Trump pushes back on reports that feds told him he’s being indicted: ‘I’ve done NOTHING wrong’

Former President Donald J. Trump forcefully pushed back against reports that federal prosecutors have informed him that he is a “criminal target” and will likely be indicted, a shocking development which if true, would have a significant impact on the Republican presidential primaries.

On Wednesday, reporter John Solomon cited multiple anonymous sources for his report that “An historic federal indictment crafted by Special Counsel Jack Smith could be handed up by a federal grand jury against the 45th president as early as this week.”

The report follows a Tuesday tweet by former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly that the Biden regime’s special counsel Jack Smith is about to pull the trigger on his long-anticipated indictment against the 2024 GOP frontrunner.

“Donald Trump to be indicted by Special Council Jack Smith on felony charges concerning removal of classified documents in an unauthorized way. Mr. Trump is expected to make a statement shortly citing prosecutorial misconduct,” O’Reilly claimed.

If federal prosecutors did notify the former – and perhaps future – president, it was news to him, at least according to his reaction, telling New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman – or as he has dubbed her, “Maggot Haberman” – that there is no credibility to the reports.

“Trump tells me minutes ago he has NOT been told he’s getting indicted, when contacted. ‘It’s not true,’ he said, adding again he hasn’t done anything wrong,” she tweeted. “Trump statement came amid a report from one of his allies that he has been told this. NYT, CNN, WaPo and other outlets have all reported federal officials have been building toward a likely indictment, including with witnesses in Miami before a grand jury today.”

In another tweet, Haberman said “When I asked if he had been told he’s a target, he demurred, saying he doesn’t talk directly to prosecutors.”

The former president and target of years of malicious persecution also denied the report of his imminent indictment, saying that he hasn’t done anything wrong.

“No one has told me I’m being indicted, and I shouldn’t be because I’ve done NOTHING wrong, but I have assumed for years that I am a Target of the WEAPONIZED DOJ & FBI, starting with the Russia, Russia, Russia HOAX, the “No Collusion” Mueller Report, Impeachment HOAX #1, Impeachment HOAX #2, the PERFECT Ukraine phone call, and various other SCAMS & WITCH HUNTS. A TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE & ELECTION INTERFERENCE AT A LEVEL NEVER SEEN BEFORE. REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS MUST MAKE THIS THEIR # 1 ISSUE!!!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, during an appearance on “CBS Mornings,” former Attorney General Bill Barr gave his opinion that an indictment from the Justice Department is almost certain and that it’s coming down soon.

“I suspect it’s, I suspect it’s near. I’ve said for a while that I think this is the most dangerous legal risk facing the former president. And if I had to bet, I would bet that it’s near,” Barr told host Gayle King.
