Donald Trump took to Truth Social early Monday to call for a “halt” to the “fake political prosecutions” against him, citing a “very strict” Justice Department rule about targeting a candidate running for office.
The expected 2024 Republican presidential nominee is facing a total of 91 felony charges in federal and state trials — up next is the case involving hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels dug up by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg after his predecessor opted not to prosecute it. Trump has his motion to dismiss the charges denied, and the trial is set to begin on March 25.
“The Very Strict Rules and Regulations of the Department of Injustice STATE CLEARLY that you can’t prosecute a Political Opponent, or anyone, RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS/HER CAMPAIGN. Why didn’t they bring these FAKE Charges THREE YEARS AGO? That would have solved all of their problems. (The answer is that they AIMED for the various trials to come up during my campaign for President, 2024!). This includes DOJ subservient “subsidiaries” like local D.A. & A.G. Offices. In other words, all of these FAKE POLITICAL PROSECUTIONS (PERSECUTIONS!) OF CROOKED JOE BIDEN’S POLITICAL OPPONENT MUST BE IMMEDIATELY HALTED!
Biden’s media allies continue to run interference on any claims that the four separate cases against Trump are politically motivated — NBC News anchor Kristen Welker laughingly pointed out on Sunday that “all four indictments against former President Trump were brought by grand juries.”
“There is no evidence that the indictments are political,” Welker said emphatically, as if she were a member of the Biden administration.
“Trump has repeatedly been fact-checked and corrected but continues to erroneously claim that President Biden is behind the prosecutions he faces,” Mediate reported.
Two of the four indictments were brought by President Biden’s Justice Department — Special Counsel Jack Smith indicted Trump for allegedly trying to overturn the 2020 election and for the retention of classified documents. The DOJ, via special counsel Robert Hur, just decided that while Biden “willfully retained” classified documents he would not be charged because he’s a doddering old fool with a poor memory.
Trump has repeatedly referred to the weaponizing of the legal system against him as “election interference,” claiming Team Biden is trying to take him out because they know he will prevail in November.
