Former President Donald J. Trump predicted that the legal witch hunt that is being conducted against him won’t end for as long as he remains a political threat to the corrupt establishment and he blasted the probes that could derail his candidacy as election interference.
With Trump currently blowing away his GOP primary opponents in polls and his foes seemingly resigned to his winning the party’s nomination, the best hope at preventing a rematch with the deeply unpopular Joe Biden would be to remove him from the game board, and with multiple investigations expected to bring more charges against him that would appear to be the strategy.
The most serious threat comes from Jack Smith, the special counsel tabbed by rabidly partisan Attorney General Merrick Garland to probe the ex-POTUS and his associates and buzz is building that the former Hague war crimes prosecutor is zeroing in on Trump’s handling of allegedly classified materials that were confiscated by the feds in a daring FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago residence last year.
In a smoking missive from his Truth Social platform on Saturday, the Republican party frontrunner tore into the “treasonous quest” of Democrats and their big legal gun.
“A Poll just came out where I am way up on Biden in the General Election,” Trump wrote. “What that means is that the Radical Left Democrats will step up their Fake Investigations on me because they now see they can’t win at the Ballot Box. TRUMP Hating Special Prosecutor Jack Smith, whose family and friends are Big Time Haters also, will be working overtime on this treasonous quest. They are scoundrels and cheats. THIS IS ALL ABOUT ELECTION INTERFERENCE. I hope Republicans in Congress are watching!!!”

In another Saturday Truth Social blast, Trump called for Congress to act on the findings of special counsel John Durham’s report by referring the perpetrators of the Russia collusion hoax to the Justice Department.
“FoxNews: ‘Durham Report Slams FBI for Trump-Russia Probe.’ So why isn’t DOJ doing something about this, a part of the Crime of the Century, the greatest Witch Hunt in history? Instead they are viciously investigating me about ‘the Boxes Hoax,’ even though Biden is guilty and I am not – I did nothing wrong! They spied on my campaign and Rigged an Election, and these Trump Haters go after me. Congress should make REFERRALS to DOJ, and demand they stop the Witch Hunt against ‘TRUMP.’ MAGA!” Trump wrote.

Smith, who Trump had previously referred to as a “SLIMEBALL” could bring indictments against him as soon as this summer or fall, at least according to former Attorney General Bill Barr who suggested that the former president may have inadvertently gifted the legal hitman with his remarks on the Mar-a-Lago documents during the recent CNN town hall.
Trump-era AG Bill Barr tells @CBS_Herridge he believes former Pres. Trump will be "very exposed" legally if he was playing "any games" with the documents marked as classified that were kept at Mar-a-Lago.

“I would think they’d want to do it before the end of the year. And, you know, it could be, you know, later in the summer or in the fall, you know, would be the earliest I would expect that,” Barr told Catherine Herridge of CBS News during a recent interview.
