Former President Donald J. Trump roasted Kamala Harris and her fellow Democrats at a traditional Catholic charity gala in New York City on Thursday evening.
The Republican nominee didn’t disappoint the crowd at the 79th Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner, showing off a wonderful sense of wit at the white-tie event that the Democrat nominee chose to snub, the first presidential candidate to do so in over four decades.
“If you really wanted Vice President Harris to accept your invitation, I guess you should have told her the funds were going to bail out the looters and rioters in Minneapolis, and she would have been here, guaranteed,” Trump joked, referring to Harris’ raising bail money to put violent criminals back on the streets during the 2020 George Floyd race riots.

“I must say I was shocked when I heard that Kamala was skipping the Al Smith dinner. I’d really hoped that you would come because we can’t get enough of hearing her beautiful laugh. She laughs like crazy,” he quipped at another point, mocking the cackling veep.
Not since Democrat Walter Mondale in 1984 has a candidate skipped the event and instead of showing up in person, Harris “appeared” via a cringeworthy video featuring Molly Shannon of “Saturday Night Live” who played her role of Catholic student Mary Katherine Gallagher.

“Instead of attending tonight, she’s in Michigan receiving Communion from Gretchen Whitmer,” Trump said, referring to the Michigan governor who sparked controversy last week for appearing in a bizarre video mocking the sacred rite of the Eucharist while sensually feeding a Dorito corn chip to a kneeling female left-wing podcaster.
“My opponent feels like she does not have to be here, which is deeply disrespectful to the event, and in particular to our great Catholic community. Very disrespectful,” the former president also said to applause.
In addition to roasting Harris in absentia, Trump didn’t spare her running mate, “Tampon Tim” Walz.
“I used to think the Democrats were crazy for saying that men have periods. But then I met Tim Walz,” he joked.

In another jewel, Trump jabbed Senate Majority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) who was in attendance.
“The press is reporting the Democrats are starting to panic,” he said. “Chuck Schumer is here looking very glum.”
“But look on the bright side, Chuck, considering how woke your party has become, if Kamala loses, you still have a chance to become the first woman president,” Trump joked.
“There’s a group called White Dudes for Harris. But I’m not worried about them,” Trump said. “Their wives and their wives’ lovers are all voting for me,” he cracked about the goofy pro-Harris advocacy group.

“Just found out that Lyin’ Kamala is doing a video message tonight instead of being at the Al Smith Dinner. She shouldn’t be allowed to do a video message. Kamala should be there like almost every other Presidential Candidate in their History, except Walter Mondale, who lost 49-1. They didn’t give me the option of a video message, nor would I have done it. This is very disrespectful to everyone involved. She should be here, or lose the Catholic Vote!” Trump said in a post to Truth Social before the dinner.
The dinner is named after former Democrat New York governor Alfred E. Smith who grew up in poverty and went on to be the first Roman Catholic presidential nominee for a major party, losing the 1928 election to Herbert Hoover. It was first held in 1946 and has been a Big Apple institution ever since.
