Trump shares intimate details on how a certain GOP congressman ‘broke my ass’

President Donald Trump showed off the recently renovated Rose Garden during a dinner on Friday, sharing how one GOP congressman “broke his ass.”

The hilarious turn of phrase came after Trump asked Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., to say grace prior to a dinner where other lawmakers, such as Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., were also in attendance. Lankford was happy to oblige, thanking God for “the food and the privilege to be able to be here together with each other. In the name of Jesus, I ask tonight, amen.”

Trump then went on to regale the audience with an amusing tale of Johnson trying to shore up enough votes to get legislation passed.

“Beautiful. Appreciate it. That was very nice,” the president thanked Lankford. “So, getting back to why you got invited. So, I get a call from the Speaker and he’d say, ‘Sir, we have 16 hard no’s.’ It’s four o’clock in the morning, and we have one of many bills, because this happened many times. And it tended to be the same 16, 18, 19 people all the time. Four o’clock, five o’clock in the morning. I call him. I said, ‘Jim, how you doing, Jim? Everything ok?'”

“‘Yes, Sir. It’s five o’clock in the morning,'” Trump recalled. “‘How you voting for us?’ ‘Well, what do you think? Tell me, what should I do, Sir?’ And he broke my ass, and they had about 16 others. That doesn’t mean we don’t like them. But we had about 16, 17, or 18 others, and they made life very difficult. But we got them there because we had a period where we had a majority of one. Is that right, Mike? One. We were one heart attack away from losing the House. Think of that.”

Trump didn’t go on to specify which “Jim” he was talking about, but did praise Johnson as a speaker who would go down in history for his greatness.

This comes after Johnson revealed that Trump was an “FBI informant” in the case of Jeffrey Epstein, as Democrats express sudden interest in the victims that they seemed to ignore during the previous four years under former President Joe Biden’s leadership.

“When pressed by reporter Manu Raju about Trump calling the sudden concern about Epstein from Democrats a ‘hoax,’ the GOP leader responded with a stunner,” BizPac Review reported.

“What Trump is referring to is the hoax that the Democrats are using to try to attack him. He has never said or suggested or implied—I’ve talked to him about this many times, many times. He is horrified. It’s been misrepresented. He’s not saying that what Epstein did is a hoax, it’s a terrible, unspeakable evil. He believes that himself,” Johnson said.

“When he first heard the rumor, he kicked him out of Mar-a-Lago. He was an FBI informant to try to take this stuff down,” he pointed out. “The president knows and has great sympathy for the women who have suffered these unspeakable harms. It’s detestable to him.”
