Trump talks Melania’s limited role, Barron’s impact on campaign – insists they’re not ‘treated properly’

Former President Donald Trump discussed his wife Melania and youngest son Barron’s roles in his presidential campaign in an interview this week with the Daily Mail.

He started by admitting that he’d “like to” see his wife on the campaign trail if it weren’t for the threats he and his family face.

“Well, I would like to. It’s not a question of that. It’s a nasty world for me,” he said. “It’s not nasty for Democrats like it is for me. And I would like to have my family not have to go out there and go in front of some of the things that you know happen.”

Like the assassination attempt on him that occurred in July.

“She’ll do whatever’s necessary,” he added, signaling that Melania for her part has no qualms about participating. “But my kids haven’t been treated properly. She hasn’t been treated properly.”

“My kids gave up so much, and all they did is get accused of Russia, Russia, Russia, and all these hoaxes, you know, misinformation, disinformation. I don’t want them to be hurt by the horrible things that Democrats are willing to do,” he added.

As for his youngest son, he felt impressed by the young man’s connections with major YouTube influencers like Adin Ross, with whom Trump himself recently sat down with thanks to his son.

“He [Barron] knows so much about it,” Trump said. “Adin Ross, you know. I mean, I do know some people that I wasn’t so familiar with, different generation. He knows every one of them. And we’ve had tremendous success.”

“We did three unusual … I don’t know what you’d call them, but it’s a platform with three people that I don’t know, but three people that Barron knows very well. He actually calls all of them like friends of his, because it’s a different generation. They don’t grow up watching television the same way as we did. They grow up looking at the Internet or watching a computer, right?” he added.

When asked about the recently concluded Democrat National Convention, Trump made a point to note that Vice President Kamala Harris experienced “no bounce” in the polls from it.

“You know, they had no bounce on their convention,” he said. “You saw the numbers. And the reason is, she won’t talk to anybody. So it’s either because she can’t explain how she changed every single policy she had, or she’s incompetent.”

Dovetailing back to Trump’s sit-down with Ross, it lasted 1.5 hours. The interview began with Ross gifting the former president a Rolex watch, a Diet Coke, and a Tesla cybertruck.

Trump told Ross that his youngest son, Barron, is a huge fan.

“My son Barron says hello,” the former president said. “He’s a great young guy but he’s a big fan of yours. My son’s told me about you. He said ‘Dad, he’s really big.’”

Ross is indeed big, commanding an audience of millions of mostly young, male viewers.

Trump added that Barron had convinced him to participate in the interview precisely so he could reach younger folks.

“I love having a young audience … it’s about the American dream,” he said. “Right now, you don’t have the American dream.”

Moving on, the two spoke about the presidential race, with Trump arguing that all of Vice President Harris’s then-potential VP picks were more accomplished than her.

“All of the people she’s looking at are much better than her,” he said. “I think virtually every one of them is considered better, smatter, would be a better president than her.”

“Look she couldn’t even pass her law exam. She couldn’t pass her bar exam. She thought she’d never be able to pass it. And this is who we have running our country. It’s a shame,” he added.

He went on to slam her record.

“She’s ultra-left, ultra-radical,” he said. “She was attorney general of California. She destroyed California. Her policies have destroyed California. San Francisco was the best city in our country 20 years ago. Her policies, when she was the district attorney, have destroyed San Francisco.”
