Former President Donald J. Trump returned to South Carolina for the first time since his latest indictment and thrilled the crowd with a rousing speech during which he took shots at his favorite targets, including Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
The embattled GOP frontrunner headlined the 56th edition of the Silver Elephant Gala in Columbia, the state Republican party’s annual fundraising event, where he was joined by Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) who he addressed while imploring the Senate to do something about the persecution that he’s facing from the Biden Justice Department.
“These guys, what they’re doing with this election interference, and the Senate has to step up and do something. The House is doing a lot of things,” Trump said to cheers. “But the Senate under perhaps the worst leader in the history of our country running the Senate, Mitch McConnell, has to step up and do something.”
Trump: What they’re doing with this election interference and the Senate needs to step up. The House is doing a lot of things… They have something on Mitch McConnell. There’s no way he’s doing this. They got something on Mitch McConnell pic.twitter.com/3zEISyKGa7

“Because they have done… they have done, and you have some good ones and that guy right there is trying very hard,” Trump continued, gesturing at Graham. “He’s working hard but they need a lot of other people.”
“And they better do it. Stop just handing out money every time,” he continued. “$1.7 trillion to the Democrats… and I’m telling you, Lindsey, they have something on Mitch McConnell. There’s no way that he’s doing this. They’ve got something on Mitch McConnell.”
“It’s a terrible thing that’s happening with that guy and with the whole…they gotta step up. The House is stepping up, they’re working hard and they are stepping up and I think a lot of things are happening but we’ll see…”
Trump also continued his criticism of Special Counsel Jack Smith, the Biden regime’s legal hitman who has conjured up and repurposed archaic laws to criminalize free speech in his case that will put the former president’s fate into the hands of an Obama-appointed judge and a jury pulled from a pool in a city that overwhelmingly loathes him.
Trump: Deranged Jack Smith. He’s a deranged human being. You take a look at that face, you say that guy is a sick man pic.twitter.com/GdmoTbcRuk

“We’re kicking Biden’s ass, and that’s the problem,” Trump said to cheering from the audience. “And If I wasn’t… we wouldn’t be under investigation by deranged Jack Smith. He’s a deranged human being.”
“You take a look at that face, you say that guy is a sick man. There’s something wrong with him,” Trump continued. “Somebody said ‘Why don’t you be nice to him?’ I said, wouldn’t matter… this guy’s a maniac. They gave me a maniac, they gave him the nicest man in the world,” seeming to refer to the absentee prosecutor in charge of the probe of Biden’s mishandling of classified material.
“You know the boxes hoax right? The boxes hoax. This guy’s got 1,850 boxes Lindsey,” Trump said, again pointing at Graham.
“That’s the problem. If it wasn’t, we wouldn’t be under investigation by deranged Jack Smith,” Trump also said at the event. “He’s a deranged human being. Take a look at that face. You’d say that guy is a sick clown. He’s a lunatic.”
