Trump to attend Hegseth’s big military pow wow

President Donald Trump will be in attendance at Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s gathering of the country’s top military leaders.

On Sunday, Trump announced his plans to join the shindig, which will reportedly feature “hundreds of generals and admirals,” according to The Hill.

“We have some great people coming in, and it’s just an esprit de corps. You know the expression ‘esprit de corps’?” Trump said to NBC News during an interview over the phone. “That’s all it’s about. We’re talking about what we’re doing, what they’re doing, and how we’re doing.”

The gathering will take place on Tuesday and is being described as last-minute by media outlets like the Washington Post, which first reported on it last week. They say that the invitations went out without any further explanation regarding the reason for the meeting.

“An official familiar with the plans previously told NBC the meeting was meant for Hegseth to highlight the military’s accomplishments and outline the future of the Defense Department under the Trump administration,” The Hill reported.

This comes as Trump and Hegseth are encouraging “warrior strength” among the military, including senior ranks, and have trimmed what they deem to be the fat that has been holding the United States military back.

Vice President JD Vance doesn’t believe the story is as big as the breathless mainstream media is making it out to be.

“It’s actually not unusual at all, and I think it’s odd that you guys have made it into such a big story,” he said.

Trump offered some small details on what might take place during the gathering at the White House on Thursday.

“I think it’s great when generals and top people want to come to the United States to be with our now-secretary of War,” he said, adding that those in attendance may be “touring equipment sites” and  “talking about the newest weapons.”

Leftists on X were not happy about the announcement:
