Trump visits Arlington to mark Abbey Gate bombing anniversary – Biden at the beach, Kamala MIA

Former President Donald Trump once again demonstrated the vast difference between himself and the current Democrat administration.

The Republican presidential nominee spent Monday morning commemorating a somber anniversary with families while President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris issued statements congratulating their own administration over the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal.

Biden’s schedule for Monday showed him still away from the White House, as he continues to vacation in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. The lame-duck leader flounders with the title of commander-in-chief as he reportedly will remain at his vacation home through Aug. 30th with no public events scheduled.

Neither is Vice President Kamala Harris holding court at the White House as she is continuing to make her way across key states with running mate Gov. Tim Walz to sell American voters on her presidential campaign.

And Trump? He was making sure to honor the 13 fallen American service members who were killed during the botched withdrawal of U.S. troops orchestrated by the Biden administration. On Monday, Trump participated in a wreath ceremony in their honor at Arlington National Cemetery.

Trump joined the families of some of the fallen to mark the three-year anniversary of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan when 13 heroes were killed in a bombing at Abbey Gate. He even spoke by phone with those who could not attend in person.

Two Marines who were seriously injured in the Abbey Gate bombing, Cpl. Kelsee Lainhart and Sgt. Tyler Vargas-Andrews, stood alongside the former president:

“This is the third anniversary of the BOTCHED Afghanistan withdrawal, the most EMBARRASSING moment in the history of our Country,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Gross Incompetence – 13 DEAD American soldiers, hundreds of people wounded and dead, AMERICANS and BILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF MILITARY EQUIPMENT LEFT BEHIND.”

“You don’t take our soldiers out first, you take them out LAST when all else is successfully done,” he added. “Russia then invaded Ukraine, Israel was attacked, and the USA became, and is, a laughing stock all over the World.”

Biden and Harris issued statements Monday but did not participate in the ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

“Today, and every day, we honor our fallen,” Biden’s statement read, naming each of the service members killed.

“They embodied the very best of who we are as a nation: brave, committed, selfless. And we owe them and their families a sacred debt we will never be able to fully repay, but will never cease working to fulfill,” he added.

“Today and every day, I mourn and honor them. My prayers are with their families and loved ones,” Harris said in her own statement. “My heart breaks for their pain and their loss. These 13 devoted patriots represent the best of America, putting our beloved nation and their fellow Americans above themselves and deploying into danger to keep their fellow citizens safe.”

The vice president claimed Biden “made the courageous and right decision to end America’s longest war” despite the fact that it was under Trump’s administration that the agreement was reached to withdraw U.S. troops.
