Trump vows to ban China from buying critical U.S. infrastructure; campaign petitions Facebook to restore account

Republican presidential candidate Donald J. Trump is polishing his pro-America message as he readies for the bruising quest to retake the White House in 2024, turning up the fire on China with a vow to prevent the communist nation from continuing to buy up critical U.S. infrastructure including farmland.

The former president, who has been buoyed by media being forced to cover the brazen hypocrisy of his successor Joe Biden’s own problems with classified material that continues to turn up in his Delaware home, put out a new campaign video in which he scorched Democrats and establishment RINO Republicans who have allowed China to accumulate vast holdings in the U.S., a serious threat to the nation’s security.

“China is buying up our country,” Trump began in the nearly three-minute video. “While corrupt Democrats and RINO-type politicians in Washington have been spending trillions of dollars on the Green New Deal nonsense, foolish foreign wars and providing lavish benefits to illegal aliens from all over the planet, China has been spending trillions of dollars to take over the crown jewels of the United States economy, and they are doing that.”

“China is buying up our technology, they are buying up food supplies, they are buying up our farmland, they are buying up our minerals and natural resources,” he said. “They are buying up our ports and shipping terminals and with the help of a corrupt influence-peddlers like the Biden crime family, China is even trying to buy up the pillars of the U.S. energy industry because frankly, Biden and the group don’t care about real energy, they only care about nonsense energy, energy that doesn’t work, and it never will.”

“While some are focused on China’s purchases near power plants and military bases, the fact is we should be very concerned about all Chinese communist activity in the United States,” Trump continued. “As I have long said, economic security is national security. China does not allow American companies to take over their critical infrastructure and America should not allow China to take over our critical infrastructure.”

“I didn’t allow it when I was president and I won’t allow it when we become president again,” he pledged.

“When I’m president, I will ensure that America’s future remains firmly in American hands, not in China’s. We need to enact aggressive new restrictions on Chinese ownership of any vital infrastructure in the United States, including energy, technology, telecommunications, farmland, natural resources, medical supplies, and other strategic national assets,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“This issue requires immediate action from leaders from across the country as it’s a national security threat and I’m pleased President Trump has made it a campaign priority,” Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL) a leading congressional critic of Beijing’s soft power told the Daily Mail.

Trump’s tough new ad comes among reports that his campaign has requested that he be allowed to return to Facebook.

According to NBC News, the former president’s team has sent a letter to Facebook’s parent company Meta formally requesting the lifting of the ban that he was slapped with in the days following the so-called “insurrection” on January 6, 2021, when he was de-platformed by every major social media company.

“We believe that the ban on President Trump’s account on Facebook has dramatically distorted and inhibited the public discourse,” the Trump campaign wrote in the Tuesday letter according to NBC News which reviewed a copy.

New Twitter owner Elon Musk has already lifted Trump’s ban on the platform although he has yet to resume tweeting.

“Trump is probably coming back to Twitter. It’s just a question of how and when,” said a Republican who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss private conversations with Trump about returning to the platform. “He’s been talking about it for weeks, but Trump speaks for Trump, so it’s anyone’s guess what he’ll do or say or when,” according to NBC News.
