Calls for a “politically motivated assassination” were not idly met as Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R) fired back at the ex-CIA director’s “disgusting” statement with a report to the Capitol Police.
“…General Hayden will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
The congressman’s enduring stand against military confirmations, a standoff with the Pentagon over providing leave for troops to travel for abortions, left former CIA and NSA Director retired Gen. Michael Hayden more than a little miffed as his belligerence against the senator escalated to apparent threats.
Tuesday, Tuberville responded to the suggestion he be erased from existence by tearing into Hayden’s record and complicit Democrats while demanding the retired general be held to account for any criminal action.
“This morning my office was made aware of a statement made by General Michael Hayden calling for a politically motivated assassination. This statement is disgusting and it is repugnant to everything we believe in as Americans. Given General Hayden’s long career in Washington, he must have known that, by making such a statement, he was committing a serious crime,” began the senator’s statement.

“His own efforts today to reinterpret what he said are only a tacit admission of guilt. If we still have a nonpolitical justice system in this country, then General Hayden will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” continued Tuberville. “My office has reported this incident to the Capitol Police and I expect that they will once again do an excellent job protecting members of Congress and bringing criminals to justice.”
On Monday, Hayden had responded to a question as to whether or not the Alabama lawmaker should be removed from his committee position by positing, “How about the human race?”
By Tuesday morning, he had doubled down on the remark and posted to X, “I was surprised to wake up this morning and discover that many MAGAnuts had lost their minds over my suggestion that ‘Coach’ Tuberville not be considered a member of the human race. I stand by my view. I’m wishing you all a nice day even the intransigent Tommy Tuberville.”

Countering the general’s ranting, Tuberville gave a brief history lesson on the man’s proximity to a list of preeminent intelligence disasters spanning two decades, including one that resulted in the worst attack on American soil since Pearl Harbor.
“General Hayden presided over some of the biggest failures in the history of American intelligence, such as the September 11 attacks and the lack of Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq. Further, General Hayden actively participated in the Russia Hoax and lied about Hunter Biden’s laptop to get Joe Biden elected President,” tamping down on the twice-former director’s credibility. “Both of these lies tore our country apart and did enormous damage to the fabric of our republic. General Hayden is in no position to criticize anyone as his credibility was completely destroyed long ago.”
The congressman noted in his statement that he was “not aware of a single Democrat member of Congress who has condemned this reckless statement” and that the “deafening silence tells us everything we need to know about Democrats and their commitment to ‘Our Democracy.'”
“Sadly,” Tuberville opined, “General Hayden is just the latest in a long line of Washington Leftists who have engaged in reckless rhetoric against me over the past few months. This must stop and it must stop now.”
At the time of this post, Capitol Police had not publicly responded to Tuberville’s reporting on Hayden.
