Tucker Carlson mocks shrieking Jon Stewart; unhinged comedian’s response was pretty vulgar

Fox News host Tucker Carlson leveled a “shrieking and disheveled” Jon Stewart for his recent appearances in favor of the PACT Act.

The “Tucker Carlson Tonight” host wondered what happened to the comedian and former “The Daily Show” host during a segment of his show Thursday. Turning to a recent video clip of Stewart’s outburst over the veterans’ health care bill, Carlson noted to viewers that he now appeared “unrecognizable” and “demented.”

Stewart had made appearances on Capitol Hill and in media outlets in the last week to push for support of the Senate bill aimed at addressing veterans who had been exposed to toxic burn pits. His anger spilled over in several instances as he torched Republicans who were not backing the legislation for various reasons.

“Jon Stewart was famous once,” Carlson said Thursday, noting the now-59-year-old’s past television hosting gig on a “never that amusing” show which was “much-lauded” by the media.

“Around the end of the Obama administration, Jon Stewart kind of disappeared, and you didn’t hear anything from him. He has resurfaced, he showed up in Washington, D.C. the other day, looking like a guy who lives in the men’s room at your public library, eating imaginary insects out of the air,” Carlson went on.

“What’s really the most interesting part of it is not the policy debate, but Jon Stewart himself, totally unrecognizable. He looks demented. Judge for yourself. Here it is,” he added, before airing a clip of Stewart recently screaming at Human Events senior editor Jack Posobiec.

The liberal comic, who has spent the better part of the last few years advocating for veterans, was seen on camera berating Posobiec whom he accused of being “a f**king troll.”

“At least we can say we tried. @JackPosobiec consistently asked if he could use his platform in any way to bring opposing sides together. Jon just screamed at him. At one point grabbed him. CNN cameras will show only part of this, but I got lots too,” tweeted National Pulse editor-in-chief Raheem J. Kassam who was a witness to the bizarre behavior.

“That’s Jon Stewart? The famous Jon Stewart?” Carlson asked after playing the clip.

“He looks like a homeless mental patient, shrieking and disheveled, and very short. Really short. Too short to date. Was he always that short?” he asked. “What happened? Where’s he been the last seven years? If you know, let us know.”

Stewart, who had blasted Fox News last week because he claimed the network “refused” to have him on the air, shot back at Carlson later Thursday night in a vulgar response.

He tweeted that the Fox News host “believes me too short to date… and yet somehow, miraculously, I remain tall enough to not know what Victor Orban’s a** tastes like!” referring to Hungary’s prime minister.

While many on social media recalled the insulting exchange between Carlson and Stewart on a CNN show called “Crossfire,” back in 2004, others on Twitter appreciated Carlson’s sense of humor.
