Tucker Carlson: Pete Buttigieg is feverishly pushing ‘equity,’ not his job. He’s a disgrace and should resign.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s obsession with everything but the actual functions of his job is proof enough that he deserves to resign in disgrace, according to Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Speaking Friday on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” the eponymous host accused Buttigieg of spending more time promoting the Democrat Party’s agenda than tackling America’s skyrocketing gas prices.

Specifically, the transportation secretary’s been focused on promoting so-called racial equity, green energy, and even abortion, according to Carlson.

For instance, he’s been focused on “demanding that airlines hire fewer white pilots and fewer white air traffic controllers, because that was the real problem, because skin color somehow is related to aeronautical skill,” the Fox News host said sarcastically.

He’s also been encouraging poor rural Americans to buy expensive electric vehicles and ranting and raving to the public that their desired highways are racist.

“In November, he told Americans in rural areas, the poorest parts of this country, to go ahead and buy electric vehicles. Get a Prius even though they cost more than 50 grand,” Carlson explained.

“In that same month, of course, he reminded us that our highways are racist: ‘If an underpass was constructed such that a bus carrying mostly Black and Puerto Rican kids to the beach was designed too low for it to pass by, obviously, that reflects racism, that went into those design choices.’ Racist roads. Can you name one? No, of course not, but these are his obsessions,” Carlson continued.

More recently, Buttigieg ranted to the public about abortion.

“At the end of the day, we reached a view as a country that the way we would resolve this very difficult issue is to trust women and after 50 years, that’s apparently being thrown out the window. The broader question that I think is before us now will be: Did we live to see the high watermark of rights and freedoms in this country and watch that begin to move in the opposite direction?” he said this past Wednesday.

He made the bizarre remarks while speaking at the 2022 Mackinac Policy Conference, which was supposed to be about the nation’s high inflation rates and supply shortages.

“Now, that guy is not the secretary of abortion or ladies’ rights. That’s the secretary of transportation who was lecturing you about abortion, a topic that doesn’t really have anything to do with him on any level, even as our transportation systems are falling apart, and that’s not an overstatement,” Carlson said in response to the clip above.

“He’s busy going to policy conferences, telling you the real problem in this country is the Supreme Court ruling on abortion. Pete Buttigieg is a disgrace. He’s not even doing the bare minimum to fulfill his job requirements. Pete Buttigieg should resign, at least,” Carlson said.

Buttigieg’s also been busy celebrating Pride Month and wishing first lady Jill Biden “happy birthday.”

Not surprisingly, Carlson’s disgust with Buttigieg is shared by many.

Observe:

Earlier on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” the host argued that a true transportation secretary would be focused on two things: diesel prices and airline traffic.

“[T]hat’s what you would be worried about if you were the secretary — diesel and airlines — and yet, remarkably, in less than a year and a half under Joe Biden, both of these things, fuel costs and air travel have gone dramatically in the wrong direction,” he said.

Gas prices are now exorbitantly high, and trying to fly is “like traveling in India in 1985.”

“You have no idea if the plane is going to arrive or leave. No one will give you a straight answer on that and there is nothing you can do. It is falling apart and anyone who’s tried to go anywhere, particularly this weekend, can tell you that,” Carlson said.

But hey, at least your pilots are most likely not white …
