‘Turns out, we were right’: Kari Lake informs Arizonans she’s not about to back down anytime soon

Kari Lake may not be Arizona’s next governor, but she’s going to fight tooth and nail to make sure the next election cycle doesn’t require voters to put their trust in broken/incorrectly working machinery.

In a video posted to Twitter, she ripped the rampant problems with tabulators and printers that resulted in voters waiting in hours-long lines just to cast a vote they weren’t sure would count. She argued that the claims she made early in the election cycle were proven true, and the chaos and confusion were “unforgivable.”

Watch:

“I wanted to reach out to you to let you know that I’m still in this fight with you,” the video begins. “For two years I’ve been sounding the alarm about our broken election system here in Arizona, and this past week has confirmed everything we’ve been saying.”

“When we called for Katie Hobbs to recuse herself over a year ago, they ridiculed us. It turns out we were right; the fox was guarding the henhouse and because of that, voters have been disenfranchised,” Lake continued. “When we raised concerns and I filed a lawsuit months ago to get rid of the electronic voting machines, they said we were crazy. Well, it turns out we were right.”

The video then shows a compilation of people standing in long lines at polling locations just to get a chance to vote, including many of the clips that went viral on Election Day.

“On Election Day, nearly half of all polling locations had problems with tabulating machines and printers. Malfunctioning tabulation machines forced voters to wait in line for hours to exercise their sacred right to vote,” Lake explained over the clips, detailing the plight of one man who tried three different voting locations before he was finally able to cast a ballot.

“One man told me he went to a location, there was a three-hour line because the tabulators weren’t working. He drove fifteen miles to another location, and the printers weren’t working,” she said. “He drove another fifteen miles and was finally able to cast his vote, but he’s not sure it counted. Our election officials failed us miserably. What happened to Arizonans on Election Day is unforgivable.”

But Lake wasn’t about to let sleeping dogs lie by ignoring the problems people experienced in their desperate attempt to participate in American democracy.

“Now I’m busy here collecting evidence and data, rest assured I have assembled the best and brightest legal team and we are exploring every avenue to correct the many wrongs that have been done this past week,” she assured her supporters. “I’m doing everything in my power to right these wrongs. My resolve to fight for you is higher than ever.”
