UK citizens urged to surrender ‘zombie’ knives and machetes before ban to avoid ‘repercussions’

Setting priorities for the “future of our young people,” the United Kingdom announced a new crackdown that showed how ninjas and “hurty words” lined up with “zombie-style knives.”

As the cultural clash wrought by years of globalist policies carried nations to a tipping point, officials in the UK have seen fit to combat unrest by leaning further into their authoritarian impulses. Monday, that came in the form of an announced ban dancing on the line between comedy and tragedy.

Posted on the Home Office’s social media page, the government announced, “Failing to surrender zombie-style knives or machetes could cost you up to two years behind bars,” as a period to turn over scary-looking blades was established in exchange for potential compensation.

A statement from policing minister Dame Diana Johnson noted, “Too many people have access to weapons that can lead to devastating, life-changing consequences.”

“There is no legitimate need for a weapon of this kind to be in our homes or on our streets. That is why we will continue to make sure the tightest restrictions are in place to limit the availability of these lethal weapons,” she argued. “Implementing a ban on zombie-style knives is just the first step in our ambitious, dedicated plan to halve knife crime within a decade, and will closely be followed by making ninja swords illegal.”

According to the UK statutory guidance from the Offensive Weapons Act which detailed the definition dating back to the Criminal Justice Act of 1988, stating, “The weapon sometimes known as a ‘zombie knife’, ‘zombie killer knife’ or ‘zombie slayer knife’, being a blade with — (i) a cutting edge; (ii) a serrated edge; and (iii) images or words (whether on the blade or handle) that suggest that it is to be used for the purpose of violence.”

“It is absolutely crucial that members of the public come forward and safely hand in these weapons. We are offering people the chance to do the right thing — to help make our streets safer, prevent further loss of life, and save so many futures,” continued Johnson as the government promised £10 per surrendered weapon,  but only if you turned in more than three and required a receipt as part of a claim process to try to obtain the true value of one of the soon to be banned items.

The policing minister went on to implore, “We cannot do this alone, political, policing, and community leaders must work together to bring the knife crime epidemic to an end and offer a better future for our young people.”

However, social media users couldn’t help but decry the madness of the upcoming ban that would not only further restrict the ability of law-abiding citizens to protect themselves but would do so in such a manner that voicing opinions was still penalized more harshly than owning a decorative blade.
