Uncle of Highland Park shooter says there were no warning signs. Really?

The uncle of the mentally disturbed rapper who gunned down innocent Americans attending an Independence Day parade, killing six and injuring dozens more, said there were “no warning signs” that the alleged killer was about to unleash such an attack.

Never mind that Robert “Bobby” Crimo, who was identified as the shooter in the Highland Park, Illinois, attack had an apparent obsession with violence and gave off multiple warning signs.

“There were no signs that I saw that would make him do this,” Paul Crimo told Fox 32. “If I did see signs, I would’ve said something.”

“He keeps everything to himself, and he doesn’t express himself,” he explained. “So he just sits down on his computer. There’s no interaction between me and him.”

The uncle would also describe the troubled Crimo as “a real quiet kid.”

Perhaps Paul Crimo should have listened to his nephew’s music. The 22-year-old, who was taken into custody Monday, had an extensive online rap catalog, with Fox News reporting that he “published a cryptic track in October 2021 that appeared to suggest he was planning a life-defining act beyond his ability to stop.”

“Like a sleepwalker, I am unable to stop and think,” Crimo rapped. “My actions will be valiant and my thought is unnecessary. I know what I have to do, I know what’s in it, not only for me but for everyone else.”

“There is no past or future, just the now,” he continued. “It is more abstract than I can ever imagine. I can feel the atmosphere pushing me in. It’s unstoppable, like a wave pulling me under, I can’t breathe without it.”

He would continue to sing about his “destiny.”

“I need to leave now, I need to just do it. It is my destiny, everything has led up to this,” Crimo said. “Nothing can stop me, not even myself. Is there such thing as free will, or has this been planned out, like a cosmic recipe?”

“It is what I’ve been waiting for in the back of my head, ready to be awakened, It is what I’ve been sent here to do, like a sleepwalker,” he added.

The younger Crimo posted music videos last year that contain a number of disturbing images, including drawings of an active shooter being gunned down by police, as well as scenes filmed in a mock-up of a school classroom in which Crimo scatters bullets on the floor, according to the Daily Mail.

Here’s one such example:

There was also this interesting thread by someone who said they made music together and disputed the claims that Crimo was a Trump supporter — there is a photo of him with a Trump flag draped over his shoulders and another at a Trump rally — or a member of Antifa.

All of which support the following viewpoint from Ian Miles Cheong:
