Unhinged woman confronts deputy ‘lingering’ near school, says he’s ‘scaring families’

A Washington state sheriff’s deputy is being praised after a video surfaced of his calm response to an unhinged leftist accusing him of “scaring families” in the vicinity.

The woman recording the exchange evidently thought she was the brave hero for confronting the deputy who was parked outside an elementary school, but as the clip went viral, it was soon clear whose side viewers were on.

“After watching it, I’m smiling, thinking to myself, like, I’m just proud, just generally proud,” Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders expressed to KIRO Newsradio, discussing the video and how Deputy Domeno handled being confronted by the woman.

Sanders shared the clip on Instagram where he detailed what transpired.

“After finishing up a collision near the school, Deputy Domeno was in his car in the school parking lot typing up a collision report for the involved parties. An individual in our community approached Deputy Domeno while recording him and began questioning why he was there, telling Deputy Domeno he was ‘scaring families’, that he is not part of our community, and that he shouldn’t be ‘lingering’ near our local schools,” the post read.

In what will probably only irk the leftist woman even more, Sanders noted that he was “grateful” to her for recording and sharing her attempted “gotcha” of the deputy, writing that he “will be placing a letter of commendation in Deputy Domeno’s file for his tact, professionalism, and unwillingness to take the escalation bait that was set for him during this encounter.”

“Deputy Domeno is a brand new deputy with only a few months on solo patrol, but his composure was that of a 30 year veteran,” Sanders wrote.

Speaking with “The John Curley Show” on KIRO, Sanders expressed his annoyance with the woman telling the deputy to “demonstrate your humanity.”

“I don’t know what rock she’s been under, but the deputies at Thurston County Sheriff’s Office have been demonstrating humanity for a very, very long time,” Sanders said.

He added in his post that the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office and employees are “part of, and belong to, this community,” adding that patrol deputies are encouraged to “routinely maintain a presence at all of our schools.”

“The feedback we receive from family, students, and school faculty is overwhelmingly positive throughout the county, and for those who do have concerns, we are always happy to meet and work through them,” Sanders added. “Thanks for representing TCSO so well Deputy Domeno, you are writing your reports right where I want you to be: ready and able to protect our children from harm.”

Social media users agreed that the deputy handled the situation well, and the woman proved how unhinged the left can be.
