In a refreshing change from the antics seen from entitled, left-wing athletes representing America in the 2026 Winter Olympics, the U.S. Women’s Hockey team’s reaction to winning the gold medal is taking the internet by storm.
Team USA won an overtime thriller against their archrival, Canada, 2-1, after pulling their goalie in the final two minutes.

As thrilling as the win was, the team’s actions afterwards served as a stark contrast to other U.S. Olympic athletes who opted to trash their home country on the world stage. In addition to wrapping themselves in the American flag, the entire team sang the national anthem at the award ceremony.

The U.S. rivalry with Canada in women’s hockey is a story unto itself, with Fox News reporting that seven of the eight gold-medal games in Olympic history have been between the two countries, with America winning three of those.
“Canada and the United States have also met in the gold-medal game at 23 of 24 IIHF Women’s World Championships and 21 of 23 4 Nations Cups since international play started in 1987. Excluding the pandemic, the last time the two countries did not face off in a gold-medal game in any international tournament was 2019, and before that, 1993,” the network reported.
Yet, it was the moving display capturing old-fashioned Midwestern values that really captured the hearts of Americans who have grown weary of Democrats hating on the country at every opportunity.
