Van Jones ousted from his woke nonprofit amid fiscal woes: report

Former green jobs czar and leftist radical Van Jones has been reportedly ousted from his own woke nonprofit over fiscal mismanagement despite receiving millions from Amazon tycoon Jeff Bezos.

The CNN talking head was booted from the board of Dream.org, a “justice innovation” organization that he founded back in 2015, according to The Daily Beast.

The fallout reportedly arose from disagreements over the non-profit’s direction according to multiple sources with ties to the organization. Jones was forced out rather than leaving voluntarily.

Bezos’ massive donation occurred in 2021 for Jones’ philanthropic work. The billionaire handed the check to Van Jones following his trip into space aboard his company Blue Origin’s first commercial flight.

Jones seems to have doubts about Dream.org’s viability and has chosen not to funnel much of his $100 million award into the organization.

“It was even easier to criticize Jones when he said virtually nothing about how he intended to deploy the mammoth grant—first for months, then for a year, then for two. In March 2022, after The Daily Beast requested details about his plans, Jones’ posted a vague statement to his Facebook page saying that he was ‘conducting due diligence’ and had a 10-year deadline to spend the money,” the Daily Beast reported.

“Then, on Friday, as The Daily Beast was approaching Jones for comment on this story, he abruptly announced that he was giving—or had given—unspecified sums of money to education and criminal justice initiatives, including Beat the Block, a program that pays young men ‘for 100 days to get off the street corner [and] come up with a plan for [their] life,'” the outlet added.

Bezos has been very giving when it comes to Van Jones. He also donated $10 million to “Green for All,” Jones’ environmental advocacy initiative operating under the Dream.org umbrella.

“Green for All” has allegedly burned through all of the cash and has almost nothing to show for it. That was reportedly the reason that Jones was shown the door.

When “Green for All” got the cash infusion from its sugar daddy, it reportedly started massive hiring and almost doubled its expenses overnight. There was allegedly no cohesive plan of operation or action for the business entity.

“No one was sure what we were doing or what our strategy was,” one ex-employee candidly commented.

When the group reached out to local environmental groups for collaborative efforts, they were asked, “What do you have to offer?” An ex-employee says that they’d respond, “We don’t know yet.”

Overspending led to the necessity of laying staffers off. Sources blamed Jones for a lack of attention to the organization.

“He can’t stay at anything for longer than a few years before passing it off,” one insider carped, according to the Daily Beast.

While ignoring the nonprofit, it’s being charged that Jones has instead been mingling with the super-rich. In July, he traveled to Idaho’s glittering Sun Valley ski resort for Allen & Co.’s annual “summer camp for billionaires,” where tech, media, and business moguls rub elbows.

According to a spokesperson, Dream.org “has never been in a stronger place financially, and we are so proud of the initiatives we’ve launched to pursue our mission.”

“Van continues to work with Dream.org in the justice innovation space and beyond,” his spokesperson claimed. “He is a proud supporter of their work at every level.”

Jones is disliked on the right for being a dedicated Marxist while hated on the left for not being radical enough:
