Vice President JD Vance weighed in on Michigan Democrat Abdul El-Sayed’s win in Tuesday’s Senate primary, crediting his success to the “self-hating white liberals” who powered his victory.
Despite polls showing that he would easily win, the left-wing Muslim socialist barely managed to eke out a one-point decision over Rep. Haley Stevens, who vastly outspent him but couldn’t close the deal due to the allure of socialism to gullible young and college-educated voters who lack an appreciation for America.
Vance sat down with Laura Ingraham for an interview that aired on Wednesday’s edition of “The Ingraham Angle” on Fox News, and the Michigan results were one of the topics they discussed, with politics taking center stage three months before the midterms.

Asked by Ingraham what El-Sayed’s win means, Vance didn’t sugarcoat it.
“The base of the Democratic Party just wants radicals,” he explained. “It wants these DSA types, it wants people who hate even the idea of private property ownership, but it also tells us that that particular set of ideas is very popular in places you wouldn’t expect. Because El-Sayed, he’s this guy who holds himself out as a working class hero, as a guy who’s going to fight for the working class.”
“How does he fight for the working class?” Vance asked. “By flooding his state and his country with low-wage immigrants. Of course, those people will drive down the wages of the working class, and he also doesn’t want to do anything to protect the Michigan auto industry. He has fought against the Trump tariffs that have saved the Michigan auto industry.”
The vice president also pointed out that for all of the pumping up of El-Sayed as a champion of the working class, he really appeals to an entirely different demographic.
“Where did he do the best? He did the best among wealthy white liberals and among new immigrants to the United States of America,” he said. “He basically represents the modern Democratic coalition, which is self-hating white liberals united to people who just came to the country for the first time and don’t actually have the sense of appreciation for it that they should.”
“Those are the people who are voting for El-Sayed,” Vance pointed out. “He doesn’t have the constituency among the working class he pretends to represent.”
Ingraham noted that the Democrat Senate hopeful performed best in enclaves of the affluent and the educated, asking what the results say about the state of higher education in America.
“I think what that tells us is that a lot of young Americans were sold a whole promise at the elite universities in our country, and that promise is that they were going to be able to go to college, get a degree, and everything was gonna work out fine for them,” the vice president said.
“In reality, actually, a lot of universities sold these kids a bill of goods. They gave them a lot of debt. They did not give them useful skills or useful credentials, and a lot of these kids are very angry,” Vance continued. “But that really is…the base of the Democratic Party today is downwardly mobile, hyper-progressive, well-educated people. People, I think, who were sold a bill of goods by universities have a lot of debt, but not a good job to show for it.”
The vice president was more charitable than his boss, who unloaded on the Michigan Democrat as being “full of sh*t” and a Jew hater.

“This guy hates Jews,” President Donald J. Trump said at an event in Las Vegas on Wednesday. “Somebody said, ‘Oh that’s a little strong.’ No, he hates Jews and hates Israel.”
“Abdul El-Sayed, can you believe this?” Trump added. “He’s a man of hate, and now he’s going around saying, ‘Oh I love everybody.’ He doesn’t love everybody. Put him in office, and you’re going to find out what he loves.”
“When I watch Abdul, he’s full of sh*t,” the president declared.
El-Sayed will face former GOP congressman Mike Rogers in the general election.
