Varney blasts Trump for calling Kamala ‘dumb’: ‘Women react to that kind of thing’

Stuart Varney took exception to former President Donald Trump referring to Vice President Kamala Harris as “dumb.”

The Fox Business host questioned the “insulting” language Trump has used to talk about Harris, asking Rep. Burgess Owens (R-UT) if the former president should consider dialing his rhetoric back.

“This is anecdotal, but I’ve been hearing a lot from women. They are not happy with what Trump has been saying and some of the language that he’s using about Kamala Harris, it’s insulting,” Varney said. “Should he tone down his language?”

Owens responded with an attempt to discuss policy rather than Trump’s tone.

“Let’s look at the message. Are we trying to get our country back on course and stop what’s going on at the border? Are we trying to stop the raping and killing of Americans across the country?”

The host broke back in to steer the conversation back to Kamala.

“But hold on a second, congressman,” he said. “I’ve been out and about over the weekend. And when Donald Trump called Kamala Harris ‘dumb,’ that was a profound mistake, in my opinion. Women react to that kind of thing, and so they should! I mean, don’t you think you should tone down the language? I know, okay, get through to the central message by all means. But tone the language down. He said he was going to be nice, and then he says, ‘I’m not going to be nice. I think that’s a mistake.’”

Varney is likely referring to a Truth Social post that Trump made last week where he insulted the “dumb as a rock” VP.

Wow, just watching the Fake News, and they’re doing their very best to turn the Worst President in the History of our Country into a “Brilliant and Heroic Leader” (He was heroic because he quit!), and to turn “Dumb as a Rock” Kamala Harris from a totally failed and insignificant Vice President into a future “Great” President. No, it just doesn’t work that way!

“Well, what you’re seeing with Donald Trump, he is who he is, he’s a fighter,” Owens responded. “I mean, you take a look at how he responded to that assassination attempt. How many people going to stand up and do what he did at that point? So we have to take Donald Trump for who he is, he’s a fighter. He’s very strong. And I tell you at this point, Americans are looking for strength, and yes it might not come out as nicely as people want, but do we want to win or do we want to just have people that is, they’ll say anything that’s nice, but then they’ll cut your head at any point?”

“I’ll tell you what, the worst thing we can do is vote for a nice Kamala Harris because she’s gonna destroy our nation because her policies are anti-American. So let’s go for the America first guy, okay, let’s get our country back on track in the next four years, and then we can move on to somebody who’s nice, and won’t say the things that sometimes President Trump says,” Owens concluded.
