A Northwest Washington, D.C. Chipotle restaurant was the scene of an ugly meltdown from a customer who snapped after he apparently lost his patience over the time that it was taking to prepare his order, violently hurling counter items and a part of a register terminal at a terrified employee with the tense moment being captured on surveillance video.
The incident went down this week at the Mexican fast food eatery with the video showing the customer wearing a white shirt with a black beanie over his head and carrying a green backpack, reaching over the counter and proceeding to throw the items at the worker who said that the reason why the man turned violent is that she caught him trying to steal the food.
“He tried to steal them, and he didn’t get away with it because I threw them in the trash. And then, he just got mad after that,” the employee told the Beltway area’s Fox News affiliate which aired the video of the man’s complete loss of control before he fled the premises.

The Chipotle employee, who didn’t want to be named, told the outlet that this was the first time that a customer has gone off the deep end in the restaurant in such a crazed manner.
“No, a lot of crazy stuff happens at this Chipotle, but not that,” she said.
According to a report that was shared with Fox Business Digital by the Metropolitan Police Department on Friday, officers were told that the customer became “irate” over the speed that his meal was being prepared, the department said that the incident is currently under investigation.
Twitter reacted to the latest video of America’s epidemic of fast food rage incidents.
This is absurd. What is happening to everyone, the level of anger and entitlement. I am so disappointed in so many people lately.

“We are aware of the unfortunate incident that occurred in one of our Washington, D.C. restaurants last month,” Chipotle’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Laurie Schalow said in an email to Fox Business Digital. “The health and safety of our employees is our greatest priority, and we will continue working closely with authorities to ensure justice is served for individuals that do not treat our teams with the respect they deserve.”
