Video shows troops fire paintballs at citizens on their own porch to enforce lockdowns while Walz reigned

Before Governor Tim Walz became Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate, he was overseeing the state of Minnesota as it was ravaged by the 2020 George Floyd protests.

While everyone remembers the curfews that came at the same time as the COVID-19 lockdowns, it’s worth remembering how some of those rules were enforced by leaders.

Watch:

According to a USA Today article from the time this video was first posted, uniformed National Guardsmen flanked by a Humvee could be seen walking the streets to enforce the curfew. At one point, they demanded several people vacate their porch and go inside their home. When their demands failed, the officers fired paintballs.

“It is unclear if the video was taken before or after curfew. A FAQ document posted by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety says that individuals can be on their porch during curfew but says people must listen to officers’ orders,” reads the article.

“If a law enforcement officer or other public safety official asks you to go inside, or take any other action, you must follow the instruction,” said the website, which is no longer functional.
