Viral footage purportedly shows masses of shirtless Hamas terrorists surrendering to IDF forces

The propaganda war in the Israeli-Hamas conflict is not less intense than the fighting on the ground and with IDF forces continuing to root out members of the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas in the Gaza Strip, there are numerous reports of the militants surrendering en masse.

Pro-Hamas contingents insist these are not Hamas terrorists but civilians, though there are plenty of photos and even videos of shirtless men appearing to be surrendering to Israeli forces. It’s difficult to verify when the photos were taken or who the men are.

But what is clear is that those surrendering are shirtless and have been stripped down to their underwear as they await processing.

“IDF spokesman on the documents: terrorists turn themselves in and provide intelligence for the continuation of fighting,” the tweet below reads, according to the Google translation.

“On the way to the interrogation room. Terrorists who surrendered in Gaza,” the following tweet states, according to Google.

The U.K. newspaper The Times hedged its bets, saying in a tweet that included a photo of a large number of military-aged shirtless males, “Palestinian men stripped as they surrender to IDF in Gaza. Hamas fighters may have been among those held, reports suggest.”

One thing is certain, the common theme here is that the men are all stripped down to their skivvies, which pro-Hamas factions were quick to claim was abuse. However, considering Hamas is a terrorist organization, the measure is necessary to ensure the captured are not hiding a weapon or explosives.

In the video below, a purported stripped-down Hamas fighter can be seen walking across the bombed-out street while carrying an automatic rifle above his head, before surrendering the weapon to Israeli forces.
