A wanted illegal alien gang thug was shot in California after he tried to run over an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer during a targeted vehicle stop.
The incident went down early Tuesday morning in Patterson in the vicinity of Interstate 5 and Sperry Avenue, where the federal immigration enforcement agents attempted to arrest Carlos Ivan Mendoza Hernandez, a member of the 18th Street gang who is wanted in El Salvador for questioning related to a murder.

Instead of complying, Hernandez “weaponized his vehicle” in an attempt to escape being taken into custody, nearly running over an officer and catching a bullet when ICE opened fire to protect themselves.
The wounded illegal alien was then taken to a local hospital, with the incident being caught on dashcam video and posted to social media.

The shooting resulted in a partial closing of the interstate in Stanislaus County. The FBI’s Sacramento office responded to the scene.
“FBI Sacramento is responding to the scene of an ICE and CBP-involved shooting in Patterson, California. We are conducting a thorough investigation in partnership with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office and are grateful for the Patterson community’s continued patience and support. As the investigation is in its early stages, we are unable to release additional information at this time,” the feds said in a statement.
“We are conducting a thorough, methodical investigation to understand what transpired prior to today’s shooting,” the FBI’s Eugene Wu said during a news conference. “This will take time as our agents conduct our investigation.”
It is unknown whether the shooting of the illegal alien gang member will result in anti-ICE protests. Mass unrest erupted in Minneapolis in January after militant lesbian Renee Good was shot when she also weaponized her vehicle against ICE. Another left-wing fanatic, male nurse Alex Pretti, was also killed in the Twin Cities during an altercation with federal agents.
“As is established practice, we expect our federal law enforcement partners to appropriately collaborate with state and local law enforcement as this matter is investigated,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s press office said in a statement.
