Watch and Learn: Pam Bondi schools everyone on how to handle SNL like a pro

The ongoing attempts to appear funny continued on “Saturday Night Live,” where a jab at members of the Trump administration drew a zinger from one of the targets.

SNL alumni Tina Fey and Amy Poehler delivered the show’s cold open, mocking Attorney General Pam Bondi and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. While Democrats have spent the last week gnashing their teeth over memes of their leaders, like Hakeem Jeffries sporting a sombrero, Bondi masterfully reacted to the unfunny sketch on social media.

The parody was aimed at Bondi’s recent testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, as Poehler portrayed her refusing to answer questions.

“What’s up, nerds? My name is Pam Bondi. I spell it with an ‘i,’ because I ain’t gonna answer any of your questions. My time is valuable,: she said before Fey entered the scene as Noem.

“Hold my gun,” she said as she tossed an AR-15-style rifle. “That’s right, it’s me, Kristi Noem. I spell my name with an ‘I’ because that’s how I thought it was spelled. And I’m the rarest type of person in Washington, D.C. — a brunette that Donald Trump listens to. I’m here to tell you that this Democrat government shutdown needs to end now.”

Mikey Day, playing Sen. Richard Blumenthal, responded that Democrats “are even more eager to end this shutdown than our Republican colleagues.”

“Democrats wanting the shutdown over makes me laugh more than the end of  ‘Old Yeller,'” Fey’s Noem shot back, referring to the 1957 film and in an apparent attempt to mock the DHS chief over her 2024 biography, where she described killing her dog.

Fey’s character also touted a “recruitment ad” for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with Poehler chiming in as Bondi.

Like other thick-skinned members of Trump’s administration, the real attorney general reacted on X, where she directly tagged Noem and asked, “Should we recreate this picture in Chicago?”

“Loving Amy Poehler!” Bondi added.

“SNL is absolutely right—the Democrats’ shutdown does need to end!” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement, according to Fox News Digital.

The official X account for Homeland Security quipped, “Thanks for the free advertisement. Get Criminals Out. Make History. Save America.”
