Watch postal worker’s shocking act in a dumpster – and response from USPS

A U.S. Postal Service worker has been placed on “non-duty status” and an investigation is underway after he was seen allegedly discarding mail in a dumpster.

The unnamed employee was caught on video posted by TikTok user Mrs_Denton19 which shows the brazen USPS worker in Antioch unloading several bins of mail from his truck.

“Federal crime happening right before my eyes,” the video was captioned.

“You gots to be smarter than this! So if yall waiting on something important coming from through the southeast region of Nashville well its in my backyard dumpster,” the TikTok user wrote.

The local Office of Inspector General is reportedly investigating, according to the USPS Office of Inspector General-Mid Atlantic Area Field Office (MAAFO).

“The local OIG office is aware of the video posted on social media this weekend and is conducting an investigation into this matter. The alleged involved Postal employee has been placed in a non-duty status,” MAAFO confirmed to WSMV4.

“This mailman is dumping people’s mail in the dumpster,” a woman narrated as she caught the shocking actions on video through her home window.

“He is dumping mail- federal mail- into the dumpster,” the shocked woman said as video captured the USPS worker retrieving bins of mail from his truck and carrying them over to the dumpster where he appeared to unload them.

“Oh my god,” said the woman recording. “People mail their checks and bills.”

She explained that the driver had already dumped two bins that were in the front of his truck, adding, “Now he’s emptying what’s in the back.”

“Don’t tell me this is legal. Please don’t tell me this is what you do to get rid of mail,” the shocked TikToker said as the video showed the postal worker going back and forth, dumping countless items.

He even appeared to be looking around to see if anyone was watching him.

“He’s looking around to make sure people aren’t looking,” the woman said as she continued her play-by-play narration.

“He keeps looking to make sure that nobody’s looking,” she added. “But I’m looking…I’m looking real good.”

She concluded the video, saying, “I can’t believe you. I cannot believe it,” before clarifying, “I can believe it because there have been times I haven’t gotten my mail, and I understand now.”

The TikTok video generated thousands of comments including one from a user who noted, “Someone is always watching, even when we think they’re not.”

“I worked for USPS, they warned me in training that if we were caught doing this we would be in jail,” another wrote.

The TikTok user who posted the video responded to those asking why she didn’t immediately call the police or the post office, explaining that she did, in fact, reach out to the local postmaster.
