Watergate cadaver Bob Woodward looks to reboot Russiagate hoax with Trump-Putin blackmail claim

Democrats and their surrogates could be looking to reboot the Russiagate hoax to bog President-elect Donald J. Trump down in a morass of investigations now that he’s heading back to the White House.

A good indication that the most damaging disinformation campaign in history is set for a sequel is CNN’s dragging out of Watergate cadavers Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein to peddle their sleazy secondhand innuendo that Trump is Vladimir Putin’s puppet.

The duo appeared during the post-election coverage where the establishment’s favorite scribe told anchor Anderson Cooper that former Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats believed that Trump was being blackmailed by Putin.

“You’ve interviewed Trump at least 20 times. And I know recently you said that the former president is far worse than Richard Nixon,” Cooper asked his guest. “Obviously, a majority of voters were not concerned. I’m wondering what you thought last night as you watched the results come in. What do you think of where we’re at right now?”

“Well, it’s the functioning of democracy. So he’s president-elect. There are lots of things to watch in what will be the new Trump administration. I just want to cite one of them, and that is the relationship Trump has with Putin — the Russian leader. I talked to, a couple of months ago, to Dan Coats, the former director of national intelligence under Trump. And I said, what’s going on in this relationship between Trump and Putin? And Dan Coates said, ‘It’s almost it’s so close. It seems like it might be blackmail,’” Woodward said, implying that the Russian leader has kompromat on the president-elect.

“CIA Director Bill Burns said Putin manipulates, he’s professionally trained to do that,” he added. “Putin’s got a plan just to be just to do this exactly when Trump and it’s what he did when Trump was in office previously and he’s planning again at playing Trump. So there is much to watch, particularly in that relationship.”

Here we go again.

Woodward’s claim will be used by crestfallen Democrats and the media to once again smear Trump during the presidential transition, just as they did in 2016 and his attribution of the allegation to Coats gives it the same sort of official heft that was given to Hitler-fixated ex-White House Chief of Staff John Kelly.

But X users are already calling B.S.

The octogenarian Washington Post icon whose word is revered more than that of God himself within the Beltway failed to move the needle when his latest pre-election book came out in which he wrote that Trump has spoken with Putin since leaving office and that he sent the Russian leader COVID tests.

“The work of a truly demented and deranged man who suffers from a debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome,” said Trump campaign Communications Director Steven Cheung of Woodward’s allegations about Trump and Putin in his book.

You have to give Democrats and their minions some begrudging credit though, even when their lies have been debunked, they stick with them.
