‘We live in a banana republic’: WH reacts to Zuckerberg’s admission of gov’t induced censorship

Facebook and Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg sparked a political frenzy when he admitted his social platform was coerced into censoring damaging information about Joe Biden during the 2020 presidential campaign.

So, did Zuck have a come-to-Jesus moment with this confession? Critics claim that’s not likely, although he was given due credit for throwing the Biden-Harris administration “under the bus” and expressed regret for his part in silencing concerned Americans.

“Ultimately, it was our decision whether or not to take content down, and we own our decisions, including COVID-19-related changes we made to our enforcement in the wake of this pressure. I believe the government pressure was wrong, and I regret that we were not more outspoken,” Zuckerberg wrote in a hard-hitting letter that can be read here.

It didn’t take long for the admission to go viral on social media where it validated long-time and unanswered complaints of censorship from Trump supporters and critics of tyrannical Covid protocols.

Zuckerberg’s statement also grabbed the attention of the White House, which quickly responded to Fox News with a defensive statement of its own:

“When confronted with a deadly pandemic, this administration encouraged responsible actions o protect public health and safety. Our position has been clear and consistent: we believe tech companies and other private actors should take into account the effects their actions have on the American people, while making independent choices about the information they present.”

In other words, the Biden-Harris administration stands by its heavy-handed action against free speech and will use “public health and safety” as the excuse.

Meanwhile, despite Zuckerberg finally confirming what many freedom-loving patriots had been saying all along, he wasn’t exactly forgiven on X:
