The GOP-led House of Representatives delivered coal in Americans’ stockings as they passed a massive $886 BILLION defense bill before leaving for the holiday break.
Democrats successfully rammed through the $886 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) on Thursday and Republicans helped them do it, despite many in the GOP openly opposing the sprawling bill that passed in a 310 to 118 vote, with 147 ‘yes’ votes from Republicans.

Only 45 Democrats and 73 Republicans had the backbone to vote no on the bill which the Senate passed on Wednesday in a 87-13 vote. It now heads to President Joe Biden’s desk for a signature.
Here are the 118 Representatives who voted to protect your right to privacy. (Nay to FISA warrantless surveillance as part of NDAA)
We lost but it was close. We needed 143 votes (1/3) to stop FISA since they suspended the rules to bring it to the floor. https://t.co/xqMeOn8SKM pic.twitter.com/2hgHHdgY6z

House and Senate negotiators released the compromise version of the NDAA last week, stripping out a ban on the Defense Department’s abortion policy and a prohibition on Pentagon funding for gender-affirming care, along with other contentious provisions.
147 Republicans just voted to reauthorize the FISA 702 program that was used to illegally spy on President Trump

“House and Senate negotiators released the compromise version of the NDAA last week, stripping out a ban on the Defense Department’s abortion policy and a prohibition on Pentagon funding for gender-affirming care, along with other contentious provisions,” The Hill reported. “Conservative lawmakers also opposed the inclusion in the NDAA of an extension of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) through April 19.”
Unsustainable.
Republican leaders are playing with fire. You cannot terrorize a citizenry and make them poorer each day and expect them to obey. Republican leaders are complicit in the intentional downfall of America.

“We sold you out,” announced Rep. Tim Burchett in a post on X.
He explained in a video message that he was headed to Congress to vote against the “horrendous piece of legislation” and declaring that “the uniparty is real.”
We sold you out. The #NDAA allows #FISA , pays for sex change surgery and covers up #uap and spends over $886 billion. pic.twitter.com/QrsGAWI45Q

The controversial Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) ended up being included even though Speaker Mike Johnson seemed to flip-flop on including it.
“Surveillance of U.S. citizens, trampling on our most precious constitutional freedoms in this country with no reforms,” Rep. Bob Good (R-Va.) said. “The NDAA is a bad bill, attaching it to FISA makes it that much worse. Every Republican should vote against it.”
Dear Americans,
For Christmas, you get an extension of mass surveillance jammed in a “must-pass” bill. You’re welcome.
Sincerely,
Congress

“America – make sure you let your voices be heard this morning… no member of Congress, D or R, should be rubberstamping a continuation of the surveillance apparatus that has enabled abusive spying,” Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) wrote on X ahead of the vote.
U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) said the bill was “insufficient” in dealing with the Pentagon which has “veered substantially left.”
“With this NDAA conference report, you almost feel like a parent who’s sent their child off to summer camp and they come back like a monster,” Gaetz said.
I regret that I rise in opposition to the FY24 NDAA because there is a great deal of good in it.
But only in Washington must we bring a bill to the floor so that we are able to militarily confront China, while at the same time embracing the policies that make the United States… pic.twitter.com/SNPCOskkkd

“I think that’s a glaring statement that more Democrats voted for it. That’s exactly right. That’s a big problem,” Rep. Bob Good, R-Va., told DailyMail.com.
Other reactions poured in on social media.
Bannon: @SpeakerJohnson, your intentions don’t matter. The only thing that matters is your human agency & what you deliver.
Don’t give me your biblical worldview. I saw it in the NDAA. Your biblical worldview is manifested there.

I love our military. That’s why I voted for the NDAA passed this summer under Speaker McCarthy that included a 30% pay raise for junior members of the military.
But the NDAA negotiated by Speaker Johnson, Chuck Schumer, Mitch McConnell and Hakeem Jeffries removed that pay…
