West Point using critical race theory, gender ideology in training that addresses ‘whiteness’: report

The hard left has long sought to use the U.S. military as a social laboratory, with committed ideologues insisting that the Defense Department — one of the largest employers in the world — has been a place of social experimentation since 1775.

Well, under President Joe Biden, whose administration is largely in the hands of the radical left, this quest is being fulfilled in spades, with the U.S. Army teaching West Point cadets critical race theory (CRT), and holding seminars on “whiteness.”

That’s according to Fox News, which has obtained documents showing the toxic concept that claims racism permeates every aspect of American society and that all white people are inherently racist is included in training materials.

The government watchdog group Judicial Watch provided Fox News with the documents obtained after suing the military twice under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said in a press release: “Our military is under attack – from within. These documents show racist, anti-American CRT propaganda is being used to try to radicalize our rising generation of Army leadership at West Point.”

Fitton’s watchdog group received over 600 pages of documents from the two lawsuits filed against the Department of Defense, which revealed that the Army officers-in-training “are receiving lessons on CRT, which included lessons on addressing ‘whiteness’ as well as the application of CRT when answering questions,” Fox News reported.

Here is the lesson example Judicial Watch detailed on “whiteness”:

In order to understand racial inequality and slavery, it is first necessary to address whiteness

  • “White people and people of color live racially different structured lives” – Frankenberg
  • 1) Is a location of structural advantage, of race privilege.
  • 2) A standpoint or place from which white people look at themselves and the rest of society
  • 3) Refers to a set of cultural practices that are usually unmarked and unnamed:

Take-for-grantedness of whiteness

  • Privilege lives within this

The press release also detailed how CRT is being applied:

An additional PowerPoint presentation, includes a slide titled “Critical Race Theory and Policy” which describes critical race theory as having the following attributes:

  • Racism is ordinary.
  • Race is socially constructed.
  • White Americans have primarily benefited from civil rights legislation.

“Do you think Affirmative Action creates an environment for ‘reverse discrimination?’” one question reads “Use CRT to support your answer.”

Another question from a slide titled “Conundrums of Integration” asks: “What is the difference between desegregation versus integration? How would you apply a tenant of CRT to this idea?”

(Tenant being a misspelling of tenet.)

And not to worry, the Army did not leave the Rainbow Brigade out in the cold:

A slide in the presentation titled “Queer Theory and Policy,” under the general heading “Queer Theory” lists:

  • Heterosexuality is the basis for sexual formations.
  • Queer theory is multidisciplinary.
  • Gay and lesbian issues get combined into one category when they are not the same.

The application of the racially divisive CRT concept is being criticized by veterans, who call the academic theory incompatible with the values of the military, Fox News noted.

Robert O’Neill, the former Navy SEAL credited with the kill shot that felled Osama bin Laden, took to Twitter in response to the story to say: “The communists are here. And they are winning.”

Here are a few other responses from Twitter, to include Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn, who said: “Indoctrinating our military distracts from making certain we can effectively combat Communist China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran.”
