WH spox has excuse for why Biden bolted Medal of Honor ceremony and it’s a DOOZY!

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre addressed criticism over her boss’s abrupt departure from a ceremony in which he presented the prestigious Medal of Honor to an elderly Vietnam War veteran.

President Joe Biden’s latest senior moment took place during a Tuesday event in the White House East Room where retired Army Capt. Larry Taylor was being honored for his wartime heroism, shucking his COVID mask for the event and heading for the exit before the ceremony had officially concluded.

On Wednesday, Biden’s top spox came up with another one of her typically ridiculous excuses for Biden, claiming that the early exit had been planned and that the octogenarian leader didn’t want to risk exposing anyone in the room to the virus.

“The president took off his mask, as I said he would, to deliver incredibly powerful remarks about this captain, Captain Taylor and what he did in service to our nation and he wanted to honor the captain and for a brief time afterwards he also didn’t have his mask on as you just laid out,” she said in response to a reporter’s question.

“And he left, as planned, as it was planned, he left when there was a pause in the program in order to minimize, to minimize, his close contact with attendees who were about to participate in the reception,’ Jean-Pierre added. “You all reported that and noticed that he left when there was a pause in the program because again, he wanted to minimize certainly his impact on folks who were there.”

Biden was told that he had to mask up after multiple-jabbed first lady Jill Biden tested positive for COVID, but her husband has already been a repeat violator of his administration’s own rules, even joking about it during his own Q&A with the press.

The narcissistic spinmeister’s excuse didn’t convince X users who took to the platform formerly known as Twitter with their takes.

“And I also would — would want to add is: Before the — the event started, the president spent a good amount of time with the captain — Captain Taylor — and his family. And everybody was masked because he wanted to spend that quality, important time hearing from this hero, hearing his stories, and really thanking him one one-on-one — also with his family around him,” Jean-Pierre added. “And so, the president, in every way that we could, yesterday, followed the CDC guidelines. And, again, he had — yes, he had his — his mask off briefly. And then when — when there was a pause, he walked out.”
