A close family friend of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas slammed The Washington Post after the “corporate press” outlet ran a hit piece on the justice’s wife this Friday.
The piece accused the justice’s wife, Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, of sending emails “press[ing] … lawmakers after the 2020 election to set aside Joe Biden’s popular-vote victory and choose ‘a clean slate of Electors.'”
“The emails, sent by Ginni Thomas to a pair of lawmakers on Nov. 9, 2020, argued that legislators needed to intervene because the vote had been marred by fraud. Though she did not mention either candidate by name, the context was clear,” the Post reported.
“Just days after media organizations called the race for Biden in Arizona and nationwide, Thomas urged the lawmakers to ‘stand strong in the face of political and media pressure.’ She told the lawmakers that the responsibility to choose electors was ‘yours and yours alone’ and said they had ‘power to fight back against fraud,'” the outlet added.
“Ginni” Thomas’ emails weren’t illegal. Moreover, the emails were sent using prewritten letters.
All across the Internet, you’ll find websites containing prewritten letters directed at members of Congress. You simply find one you like — such as a letter urging Congress to lower taxes — fill in your information (name, email address, etc.), and then click “Submit.” The website does the rest of the work.
Here’s one such example from a left-wing website that caters to members of the so-called “resistance”:

Responding to the Post’s hit piece, a close family friend of the Thomas family slammed the outlet for making a big deal out of “Ginni” Thomas using one of these websites to contact Congress about the 2020 election.
“With all that’s going on in the world, it’s pathetic that the Post and others are focused on this non-story. Ginni signed a pre-written form letter, like thousands of others,” the friend said to Fox News.
The friend reportedly added that the “corporate press” is purposefully using “Ginni” Thomas’ harmless (and certainly not illegal) emails to attack her husband over the potential overturning of Roe v. Wade.
“The corporate press hates Justice Thomas, especially after the leak of the draft Dobbs opinion, and is trashing his wife to attack the Justice,” the friend said.
They seek to attack him by linking him to efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election and, more specifically, the Jan. 6th riot at the U.S. Capitol.
While the efforts made to overturn the election were 100 percent legal, the establishment left has used the atrocity that was the Jan. 6th riot to try to portray all such efforts as an attempted coup.
And indeed, thanks to the Post’s reporting, members of the left are now using the same smear against Thomas and his wife:
Ginni COUP Thomas.

Clarence and Ginni Thomas really put the “coup” in couple.

1/6 was an inside job, ask Ginni Thomas.
ARREST THE COUP PLOTTERS!

Not only was Ginni Thomas plotting and planning a whole coup she was out here pressuring lawmakers to overturn election results. The criminality of this party knows no bounds. #FreshWords

Read today’s article in the WP “Ginni Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice, pressed lawmakers to help reverse Trump’s loss, emails show” Clarence Thomas must resign, this was a planned coup, by RW spanning years. This not jus J/6.

So they should both be in handcuffs. Along with the capital tour guides, the militias, Ginni Thomas, all of the freedom caucus, the funders, and any other law makers helping to plot a coup, those that knew of the plan and didn’t report it and so on..and Most of all TFG! pic.twitter.com/DUSUnqB8fq

Ever since someone within the high court leaked earlier this month that the court’s five conservative justices are mulling overturning Roe v. Wade, the attacks on all five, including Thomas, have been nonstop.
Critics believe the corporate press is purposefully and maliciously trying to discredit the justices either to pressure them into changing their Roe v. Wade decision or to render them so uncredible that the American people refuse to accept their rulings.
Similarly, the corporate press has been ginning up the spate of pro-abortion protests that have erupted across the states.
“Moms rallied when protesters brought mangled fetus photos to Md. school: The Supreme Court justices have cops in body armor. These kids had moms carrying towels, blankets and umbrellas,” the Post eagerly reported Thursday.
Similar headlines can be seen across the media:
NPR: “Protesters across the country are marching for abortion rights.”
NBC News: “Nationwide protests draw thousands in support of abortion rights.”
Every story is framed to make pro-abortion supporters look like heroic champions of so-called “abortion rights” and to make pro-life supporters look like evil villains.
In the Post’s latest story, the villains are of course Justice Thomas and his wife …
