Democrats continue to prove time and time again that “the left can’t meme” is more than a catchy insult.
Piggybacking on a current TikTok trend that combines the 2 Non Blondes song “What’s up?” with Nicki Minaj’s “Beez in the Trap,” Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, joined Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist, who is currently running for governor in Michigan. The duo lip-synched the words in a video captioned “POV you’re about to elect Michigan’s first Black Governor.”

This was not exactly a hit on X, where users couldn’t see younger generations being swayed by videos such as this:
Give me back my 25 seconds. I want them back

Do they honestly think they are connecting with Gen Z? By doing these little TikTok bits
I’m pretty sure Gen Z are belly laughing at their cringe. At least the ones in my world are. So embarrassing. I think of my great, great, great grandfather and what he would think. ♀️

They’ve entirely written off the heterosexual black male voter, haven’t they?

Let’s face it, many people still have outdated stereotypes about blacks, music and rhythm.
This video has really shattered that myth.

Wow they put a super popular song in their video to look so cool! Now what about policy?

Sitting here watching this on mute I can’t help but think of the game played on Holmberg’s Morning Sickness, “N-word or F-word” as I try to guess the lyrics

Great. Now my eyes are burning and I can never unsee that.
It’s soooooo cringe

While the consensus on X is that the video is “cringe,” not everyone thinks that Crockett is a liability for the Democratic Party. As BizPac Review previously reported, Charlamagne tha God called the controversial lawmaker a “phenomenal messenger” and urged the party to “lean in to” her.
“Jasmine Crockett is actually what the Democrats should be leaning into. Because she is a phenomenal messenger. And some people just got it. Some people just have a different anointing on them. You don’t know why certain people cause folks to gravitate towards them,” Charlamagne said. “To me, it’s more than Jasmine Crockett having that moment with [Republican Georgia Rep.] Marjorie Taylor Greene, where she was like ‘bad built bleach body’ or whatever it is. If you watch her in these congressional meetings, she’s always on message about something.”
