As Texas Gov. Greg Abbott continues to stand his ground in protecting his state from the federal government’s disregard for the border, Arizona GOP Senate hopeful Kari Lake is backing his right to do so.
The former Arizona gubernatorial candidate is defending Texas against President Joe Biden’s attempt to control the narrative and even forewarned about the standoff that eventually involved the U.S. Supreme Court and a bullying deadline for Abbott to stand down.

The high court sided with the Biden administration and ordered that federal agents would be allowed to remove razor wire that was erected by Texas as a deterrent against the influx of migrants illegally crossing the border.
But Abbott is standing his ground amid a deadline per the Department of Homeland Security which demanded access to the area next to the Rio Grande. The Republican governor has repeatedly held that Texas has a constitutional right to defend its border.
The Biden Administration has truly abdicated its responsibility to enforce the immigration laws on the books.

Amid Lake’s unwavering support for the rights of Texans to have a secure border, a video clip re-emerged of her almost prophetic take on the current battle between state and federal governments.
“I was down at the border and within five minutes of arriving and stepping out of the vehicle, people were walking over under Joe Biden’s policy,” Kari Lake said in an interview on Tim Pool’s podcast in 2021.
“We had, President Trump’s policy, the remain in Mexico policy, was the best border policy I’ve ever seen in my 27 years covering Arizona,” she added, likely referring to her years as a television news anchor.

“What’s @JoeBiden going to do? Arrest a sitting Governor?”

“It worked and Joe Biden came in on day one and pulled that. And now we’re seeing a crisis. We need to build the wall,” Lake continued.
“First of all, we need to sue the federal government for failing to protect us. And while that lawsuit is working its way through the system, let’s go down and start building the wall. We have many, many miles of Arizona State land we could be building it on,” she said at the time.
“And let’s let’s finish these little gaps. They’re coming through a funnel where there’s a gap in the president’s wall, and it is on federal land. But let’s build the wall anyway, what’s Joe Biden going to do? Arrest a sitting governor? I mean, honestly, but we have to,” Lake said.
“Do you think he would?” she was asked.
“I would welcome that challenge,” Lake declared.
She has reiterated her stand with Texas in comments and social media posts.
I stand with Texas.
The good people of Arizona stand with Texas.
Unfortunately, @katiehobbs, @RubenGallego, @kyrstensinema, and the entire @azdemparty do not.
We’re going to take our state back from these open-border radicals in 2024. https://t.co/SuCXD8zojQ
