Who’s having fun watching AOC melt down over migrant transport ‘crimes against humanity’?

Like other low-information Americans, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez believes Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis are engaging in human “trafficking” by busing/flying illegal immigrants to left-wing enclaves.

She expressed this completely inaccurate perspective in an unhinged Twitter post that she published Friday.

It’s appalling that far-right politicians seem to have decided that fall before an election is their regularly scheduled time to commit crimes against humanity on refugees. Don’t normalize this. Lying to & trafficking people for TV and clicks isn’t politics as usual. It’s abuse,” the post reads.

Look:

In accusing Republicans of “trafficking” illegals, she’s joined the likes of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and leftist MSNBC host Joe Scarborough.

“Hillary Clinton today agreed with MSNBC host Joe Scarborough that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sending 50 undocumented migrants to Martha’s Vineyard is ‘literally human trafficking,'” legal scholar Jonathan Turley reported Friday.

But writing in his blog, Turley noted that this perspective is pure “nonsense.”

“Human trafficking is not synonymous with moving humans in traffic. It is a legal term and a serious crime,” he wrote.

He explained that there are two trafficking laws in place — 18 U.S.C. 1581 and 22 U.S.C. § 7102(11) — and neither of them apply to busing/flying illegals elsewhere.

“This is not a program designed to put people in ‘peonage’ under 18 U.S.C. 1581. Under 22 U.S.C. § 7102(11), prosecutions are based on ‘sex trafficking in which a commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud, or coercion, or in which the person induced to perform such act has not attained 18 years of age’ and ‘the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for labor or services, through the use of force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of subjection to involuntary servitude, peonage, debt bondage or slavery,'” he wrote.

“Neither is at play in this program,” Turley added.

By “this program,” he specifically meant DeSantis’ widely publicized, controversial decision to fly 50 illegal aliens to the uber-wealthy, liberal enclave known as Martha’s Vineyard.

As previously reported, this decision spurred widespread anger and outrage from the left, with voices ranging from California Gov. Gavin Newsom to President Joe Biden decrying it as a “cruel stunt.”

Democrats have also complained that their cities lack the infrastructure to handle an influx of illegal aliens.

The problem is that, as also previously reported, Democrats are guilty of pulling the exact same so-called “stunt.”

“Planeloads of underage migrants are being flown secretly into suburban New York in an effort by President Biden’s administration to quietly resettle them across the region,” the New York Post reported last October.

“The charter flights originate in Texas, where the ongoing border crisis has overwhelmed local immigration officials, and have been underway since at least August, according to sources familiar with the matter.”

But the Biden administration didn’t just “traffic” illegals to New York. The administration also moved illegals to Florida, ironically enough.

In two additional tweets posted Friday, Ocasio-Cortez suggested people should stop referring to illegal aliens as illegal aliens because “most US families” were also illegal at one point in time or another.

Look:

But as noted by critics, there’s a vast difference between illegal migration and legal immigration, the latter of which is how millions of immigrants-turned-citizens originally got to this country.

The congresswoman doubled down on her ignorance in yet another post in which she suggested Republicans dislike immigrants.

“What a lot of Republican politicians fail to understand is that not everyone shares their zero-sum, scarcity mindset. Many of us understand that immigrants and refugees are a blessing. They have so much to offer our country, & much of our growth as a nation is because of them,” she wrote.

Again, Republicans have no issue with legal immigration — particularly merit-based legal immigration. Their concern lies solely with illegal migration, a growing phenomenon in which millions of illegal aliens have been allowed to flood across the southern border and tax the resources of border towns in states like Texas and Florida.
