Whoops! Dem senator steps on her own party’s ‘No Kings’ messaging

Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) set herself up for mockery after her attempt to dunk on President Donald Trump seemed to backfire on social media.

The Democrat posted what she likely thought was an attack on the president as nationwide “No Kings” rallies unfolded over the weekend. But Hirono not only stepped on her own party’s rhetoric, but she also managed to inspire a wave of agreement from those on the opposite side of the political aisle.

“Donald Trump is not, never will be, and has never been a king. #NoKings,” Hirono wrote in a Saturday post on X, owning herself and complaining Democrats.

“Roger that!” Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) wrote in response.

“So you agree – you think your ‘no kings’ rallies are stupid…,” Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) reacted.

Last year, during similar planned rallies, Trump dismissed the protests as “small, crazy, and totally out of touch with real Americans.”

“I’m not a king — I work my a– off to make America great,” he said. “That’s the difference.”

Meanwhile, Hirono was mercilessly mocked on X for failing to see the irony in her social media declaration.

“Greatest self own I’ve ever seen on X,” author and columnist Buzz Patterson wrote.

“Amazing to see a Senator so incompetent she’s accidentally admitting that the entire No Kings protest is incomprehensibly pointless,” Outkick’s Ian Miller quipped.
