Wild video shows pilots ejecting from fighter jet moments before crash during airshow

Wild video footage of pilots ejecting from a Soviet-built fighter jet during an airshow in Michigan was all the rage on social media over the weekend.

Two parachutes are seen emerging from the MiG-23 fighter jet before it crashed in Belleville, Michigan during Sunday’s Thunder Over Michigan show.

The fighter plane crashed into a parking lot near an apartment complex around 4:30 p.m., according to FOX 2 Detroit. Fortunately, there were no casualties at the crash site and the pilots were fished out of a lake in good condition, as well.

Unfortunately, for air show attendees, the remainder of the 25th annual Thunder Over Michigan Air Show was stopped following the crash.

Event organizers posted the following message on social media: “Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a situation that requires us to stop the show. Please make your way into your vehicles and calmly make your way out of the airfield.”
