U.S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna has threatened to sue the Daily Mail for allegedly smearing her through the use of one of her old photos.
The photo in question, taken years ago, shows the Air Force veteran proudly holding up two hardcore-looking rifles.
For some reason, the Daily Mail included the photo in a story about President Donald Trump and his former friendship with deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
“Epstein claimed he had photos of ‘dirty Donald’ with bikini-clad girls in his kitchen… in emails released by REPUBLICANS,” the headline of the salacious Daily Mail report reads.
The Daily Mail just published the most absurd and bizarre article using my photo alongside a headline implying that I was a bikini-clad girl in Donald Trump’s kitchen. I’m curious whether I can sue for defamation over this. Using my photo and likeness is not only defamatory and… pic.twitter.com/LsgaNugUNT

Notice how Luna’s photo was originally (it’s since been moved) featured right under the headline and next to a photo of Trump and Epstein. The congresswoman was incensed by the inappropriate use of her photo.
“The Daily Mail just published the most absurd and bizarre article using my photo alongside a headline implying that I was a bikini-clad girl in Donald Trump’s kitchen,” she wrote in an angry X screed. “I’m curious whether I can sue for defamation over this. Using my photo and likeness is not only defamatory and blatantly untrue — it’s wildly sexist.”
“I have never been in Donald Trump’s kitchen, and I have absolutely nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. This is clearly targeted reporting, as they did not mention any other members of House Oversight. The smears against the president are beyond outrageous at this point, and I’m seeing firsthand how the press lies to the American people,” she added.
Some critics pushed back by calling on Luna to tell her audience about the caption underneath her photo in the Daily Mail.
“Florida Representative Anna Paulina Luna is part of the House Oversight Committee which released 23,000 email exchanges from Epstein’s estate,” the caption reads.
Why did you omit the @DailyMail caption, @RepLuna (R-FL)?

The caption referenced what happened on Wednesday, when the House Oversight Committee released over 20,000 pages of records/emails obtained via subpoena directly from Epstein’s estate.
The files consisted primarily of administrative and financial records concerning Epstein’s assets.
Oversight Committee Republicans purposefully released the 20,000+ pages to undercut Democrats, who earlier in the day published separate emails from Epstein’s estate referencing President Trump.
“I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is trump,” Epstein wrote in one email to his madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, in early 2011. “[Victim] spent hours at my house with him ,, he has never once been mentioned.”
Republicans immediately pushed back by claiming the redacted “victim” was none other than deceased Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre, who, before her death, had repeatedly claimed that she’d never seen Trump do anything inappropriate around her.
“Why did Democrats cover up the name when the Estate didn’t redact it in the redacted documents provided to the committee?” Republicans asked in a scathing post published on X.
“It’s because this victim, Virginia Giuffre, publicly said that she never witnessed wrongdoing by President Trump. Democrats are trying to create a fake narrative to slander President Trump. Shame on them,” they added.

All this comes amid the wider push for the Trump administration to publicly release all of its investigatory documents concerning Epstein.
Luna herself has said she wants to see made public a list of “the alleged perpetrators and criminals that were engaged in the trafficking of victims” vis-à-vis Epstein.
“I’ve been on this train since the beginning and pushing for this, even when it wasn’t politically popular,” she continued. “But also at the same time, I do think that it’s wrong for people to use this to smear the president.”
