Wiliam Shatner, puzzled why Kamala lost with great economy, goes a round with Bill Maher

Actor William Shatner revealed he may have been in outer space as Americans delivered a resounding election victory to President-elect Donald Trump.

The “Star Trek” legend spoke with comedian and talk show host Bill Maher on his Club Random Podcast, admitting he had no idea why Vice President Kamala Harris was left in the dust by Trump who scored the electoral and popular votes as well as sweeping swing states Democrats were sure they would win.

The 93-year-old actor was dealt a severe reality check on social media after he displayed his ignorance in the interview with Maher.

The host laid out how Democrats have a “bad attitude” which is one of the reasons they lost the election, and Shatner pushed back.

“I don’t know why the Democrats lost,” the actor said.

“I don’t understand,” he added. “Prices have come down, the economy is good. I don’t know why they voted against her, against the party.”

Maher said there were “many reasons” and went on to note that Harris “was not a great candidate.”

“Why isn’t she a great candidate? She combined several trends of thought here. Black, woman–,” Shatner said before Maher pointed out the obvious.

“That’s not– that’s not a candidate. Those are. You know, that’s identity politics. That’s one of the Democrats’ problems,” the liberal host said.

While the duo discussed the election, social media users zeroed in on Shatner’s claims about the economy and his inability to grasp why Harris lost.
