Winner for most ignorant goes to … the actress who likens DeSantis to KKK grand wizard at 2023 Tony Awards

There can be no mistaking the fact that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis scares the hell out of the left, and the last argument against that assertion went out the window Sunday evening when the popular Republican governor from Florida became fair game for the entertainment awards show circuit.

The radical left, including the agenda-driven national media, is rolling out the same playbook used against Trump in their efforts to destroy DeSantis, accusing him of being a fascist Nazi and a racist, and actress Denée Benton did her part to prove that she is fully on board with the Democratic plantation mind-think when she called the Navy veteran a KKK grand wizard during the 2023 Tony Awards on CBS.

And the networks can’t figure out why no one watches the awards shows anymore.

Benton took to the stage to present an Excellence in Theatre Education Award from Carnegie Mellon University when her extremism got the better of her and she referred to DeSantis as a “Grand Wizard” — the elitist crowd cheered enthusiastically.

“I’m Denée Benton, actor and proud CMU alum,” the Gilded Age star began. “Earlier tonight, CMU and the Tony Awards presented the 2023 Excellence in Theatre Education Award. While I am certain that the current Grand Wizard — I’m sorry, excuse me, governor of my home state of Florida will be changing…. I’m sure that he will be changing the name of this following town immediately. We were honored to present this award to the truly incredible and life-changing Jason Zembuch Young, enhancing the lives of students at South Plantation High School in Plantation, Florida.”

Rhetoric like this from the left has driven American politics further into the gutter than can be recalled in modern times, from the same morally self-righteous cabal that whines like stuck pigs when the right holds serve.

The moral of the story may be that for those who believe Donald Trump has ramped up politics to an intolerable level, Benton’s actions are a clear sign that whoever emerges from the right will be subjected to the same persecution that the former president is currently facing.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:
