The controversial remake of Disney’s classic “Snow White” won’t be getting the hyped premiere that many were expecting.
The main stars of the movie have become embroiled in controversy for different reasons. Rachel Zegler, who plays the main character, has garnered some negative attention from the right for appearing to bash the original “Snow White” and then using her platform to insult supporters of President Donald Trump.
Gal Gadot, who plays the Evil Queen, is an Israeli actress and has supported her home country in the war, which has not sat well with the left.
“Never did I imagine that on the streets of the United States, and different cities around the world, we would see people not condemning Hamas, but celebrating, justifying and cheering on a massacre of Jews,” Gadot said while being honored by the Anti-Defamation League in New York.
While the actress has largely stayed out of politics during her career, she said she felt the need to speak up following the October 7 attack.
As a result of the controversy and outcry, the already-delayed film premiere will not feature the same kind of media presence that is normally expected at the launch of a Disney movie. According to Variety, “coverage will be limited to photographers and a house crew.”

She said HER version of the beloved classic would be ‘not about the love story at all, which is really, really wonderful.’ During production, she posted ‘and always remember, free Palestine on X. Which set her at odds with her Israeli costar Gal Gadot, so now they won’t do press together. And Jewish people will likely boycott this movie because of Zegler. And Palestinians will likely boycott because of Gadot.”
“But Zegler also said all conservatives are racist white supremacists. She called the ENTIRE COUNTRY ‘sick’ for electing Trump. AND, she told 77 million Trump voters ‘May Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace.’ Do the math. With an estimated opening of only $53 million, and with a reported budget of ‘well over $300 million’ (including additional reshoots and post-production,) Disney will be lucky if 10 people show up to see this movie. The Mouse House may have just produced the biggest bomb in its 100-year history!” the post concluded.
