‘You better run! You better hide!’ Ted Cruz evokes rocker Pat Benatar’s name and libs MELT DOWN

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) set off the left when he evoked rocker Pat Benatar’s name while commenting on the possible impeachment of President Joe Biden.

The Republican senator appeared on The Joe Pags show and was asked by host Joe Pagliarulo if the House impeached Biden would the Senate be able to get enough votes to convict him and Cruz hit him with his best shot.

“I don’t think Senate Democrats, if you had video of Joe Biden murdering children dressed as the devil under a full moon while singing Pat Benatar, they still wouldn’t vote to convict,” he opined.

Keep in mind that Pat Benatar had a hit song called “Hell is For Children,” which was recorded in 1980 for her second studio album Crimes of Passion — the song is about child abuse.

Interestingly, Joe Pags took issue with the Republican Accountability Twitter account sharing the clip while offering his no accreditation: “[N]ot good at giving credit, huh? I know you’re trying to call Ted out here (for no reason) but this is my work. Give credit. Sheesh.”

Either way, the Will Smith-channeling left lost their ever-loving minds over Cruz even mentioning Pat Benatar’s name — her song “You Better Run (You Better Hide)” comes to mind.

Here’s a quick sampling of the meltdown as seen on Twitter:
