You can’t hate the media enough: NYT, WaPo slobber all over Khamenei’s corpse

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei may have been one of modern history’s biggest monsters, but you’d never know it from reading America’s two most prominent newspapers.

The ayatollah’s nearly four-decade reign of terror came to an inglorious end when he was killed by an airstrike over the weekend in President Donald J. Trump’s regime change operation, terminating his command of the Islamic Republic with extreme prejudice.

But while Iranians and the civilized world celebrated his demise, the New York Times glossed over his repressive rule with a headline that downplayed the reality that he was a brutal dictator and a religious fanatic.

It was even worse at the Washington Post, which, in its own obit for the dearly departed despot, described Khamenei almost as a benevolent Santa Claus type of figure.

“With his bushy white beard and easy smile, Ayatollah Khamenei cut a more avuncular figure in public than his perpetually scowling but much more revered mentor, and he was known to be fond of Persian poetry and classic Western novels, especially Victor Hugo’s ‘Les Misérables,'” WaPo wrote.

Fact check: Khamenei was a ruthless tyrant who kept a radical Islamic boot on the necks of Iranians and presided over the country during a time when it became the world’s top exporter of terrorism.

Both papers were shredded by X users for their grossly misleading portrayal of a brutal totalitarian whose death left the world a much better place.

Some pointed out the disparity of treatment between an Islamic demon in human form and cartoonist Scott Adams, who was trashed by the NYT in their obit.

“The Times’s obituaries report and reflect lives in full, illuminating why, in our judgment, they were significant. We fairly and accurately include the newsworthy details of each life and death, and don’t treat them dishonestly to score points like you’re trying to do here,” the NYT said in a statement responding to the popular X account Libs of TikTok, which criticized the headline.

“Khamenei, one of the most evil people in History, is dead. This is not only Justice for the people of Iran, but for all Great Americans, and those people from many Countries throughout the World, that have been killed or mutilated by Khamenei and his gang of bloodthirsty THUGS,” Trump wrote in a post to Truth Social after the ayatollah was sent to his great reward.
