‘You’re a failure!’ Furious Calif man upends Mayor Karen Bass press event

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt shared a video of a man going off on Democratic incumbent Karen Bass over wasteful spending on a failed program to address homelessness while cutting costs on many basic services.

The man went off on Mayor Bass at a press event where she broke ground on a new tiny home village for the homeless, berating her for spending $400 million on her Inside Safe homelessness program to house roughly 1,500 people, which equates to over $250,000 per person, claiming that nearly half of the people end up back out on the streets.

“You are a failure! An absolute failure,” the man screams. “You have failed the city of LA, Karen!”

Bass did not respond to the man’s questions and criticism. The new village comes on the heels of the city announcing plans to tear down a different 74-bed tiny home development, which they’ve already spent $16 million on.

“It’s very obvious that for Nithya Raman and Karen Bass, the homeless problem is just a grift machine for them to waste taxpayer dollars,” Pratt said, according to the New York Post.

”The mayor’s entire MO is chasing good money after bad. She keeps pouring resources into the same failed ideas that never work, so the only conclusion you can draw is that somebody is making money off of all this waste,” he added.

While Bass is favored to be reelected, Pratt, who lost his home in the 2025 Palisades fire, is seen as her main competitor. Running as an independent, Pratt was endorsed by popular podcaster Joe Rogan and is campaigning aggressively on homelessness, crime, public safety, and government dysfunction.

Actor James Woods shared his thoughts on Bass in a post on Thursday, as seen here:
