‘You’ve been warned’: Dan Bongino accuses Kellyanne Conway of sabotaging the Trump campaign

Conservative commentator Dan Bongino has threatened war against Kellyanne Conway and other Republicans who he says have been working against former President Donald Trump behind the scenes.

The allegations against Conway are that she has been spreading negative stories about Trump’s vice-presidential running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance because she thinks he’s a lousy VP candidate.

She’s also believed to be behind media claims that Trump regrets picking Vance and has been having a “meltdown” over his VP choice.

She for her part has denied these allegations:

But from the sounds of it, Bongino doesn’t believe her.

“There’s a lot of internal sabotage going on right now that I honestly did not want to highlight because I like to stay focused on the Democrats and I was hoping it would go away,” he began Wednesday on his radio show. “It’s not.”

He went on to suggest that critics like Conway are upset with Vance’s position on Ukraine, which is that the U.S. should be more cautious and hesitant with all the aid it’s been handing out.

“I suspect strongly this was a leak from people who wanted another candidate for vice president,” he said, pointing his finger at the “Kellyanne Conway camp.”

“Some of the other candidates were very interested in a more muscular posture in Ukraine where there was a lot of money to be made for a lot of people. JD Vance is interested in a more cautious approach to Ukraine,” he added.

Bongino then dropped the hammer.

“Instead of just shutting up and trying to win now with this great ticket, there are people out there sabotaging the ticket right now,” he said. “I’m going to say to Kellyanne and others: it’s time to pipe down. You’ve been warned. I’ve had about enough.”

Listen:

The allegations against Conway come after it was recently reported that she registered as a foreign agent of Ukraine after securing a $50,000 per month contract with the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.

As a consultant, Conway was expected to, in part, “engage U.S. lawmakers, and experts, and opinion makers, to explain the importance of Ukraine to the rules-based order and the protection of democratic principles.”

Combined, this contract plus the leaks is not a good look. And so it’s no surprise that many conservative listeners believe Bongino is onto something and have been letting Conway know on Twitter/X how they feel about all this.

Look:

Speaking earlier with The Bulwark, Conway claimed she hasn’t been calling people trash-talking Vance, but that others have been calling her trash-talking him.

“When it comes to concerned people questioning the vetting or selection of J.D. Vance, the calls are coming in, not going out,” she said. “I’m not calling them and saying this is bad. People are asking me. They’re not just asking me. They’re asking lots of people.”

“I’m not anti-Vance. I was pro-Rubio,” she added.

But on the other hand, The Bulwark admitted that a friend of the president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., argued the attacks were “100 percent from Kellyanne.”

“He’s pissed off about it. He knows it’s her,” the source added, while a family member was on record suggesting “the family in general thinks very highly” of Conway.
