Zelensky’s Oval Office humiliation points to a setup and Mollie Hemingway connected all the dots

The “set-up” with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office was just the latest example of Obama-era meddling, and The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway showed how.

Whether watching viral clips on social media or the entirety of the meeting that featured President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and Zelenskyy, the guest’s antagonism was abundantly clear to many. Turning to the coordinated response from globalist leaders and corporate media, Hemingway specifically called out Susan Rice for being allegedly complicit in the “current ‘Get Trump’ effort.'”

Rice, who served as U.N. ambassador and national security advisor for then-President Barack Obama as well as director of then-President Joe Biden’s Domestic Policy Council, was among those carted out by the pundit class to pontificate on the Ukrainian leader getting booted from the White House.

Hemingway started there in a lengthy post that she shared in response to Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy (D) when she said, “I agree with you that it was a set-up — but all signs point to it being a set-up by you.”

“Yesterday, Susan Rice said of the Trump-Zelensky meeting, ‘There is no question this was a set up.’ She revealed full knowledge of the mineral agreement, complained that it didn’t include ‘concrete’ security agrees (meaning, apparently, commitment of US troops on the ground if conditions merit), and then mischaracterized Trump’s behavior, counting on most Americans to not have watched what transpired over the entire hour in the Oval Office,” said The Federalist’s editor-in-chief. “You can look at this and dismiss it as typical Democrat talking points, but you could also view it as almost a confession, one that includes details about the current ‘Get Trump’ effort.”

She went on to suggest that those who believed the Obama administration disruptors- like former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, State Department official Victoria Nuland, and first impeachment witness retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman- had stopped their antics due to Trump’s election success were “clueless.”

“I’ll remind you that Susan Rice was in the small Jan. 5, 2017 meeting in the [White House] with other key Russia collusion hoax perpetrators,” she wrote.

After reminding that the meeting was the third time Zelenskyy had declined to sign the agreement, Hemingway noted that “Rice and Tony Blinken, Victoria Nuland, and Alexander Vindman may have been personally advising Zelenskyy to do this meeting in the way he did – they recommended him to be hostile and to try to goad Trump into blowing up. Even though he didn’t, and even though Zelenskyy’s actions horrified many normal Americans, the Obama team went on the airwaves to falsely characterize what happened.”

While Rice appeared on MSNBC as Democrat governors and foreign officials embarked on their latest “Slava Ukraini” virtue signal by posting their support of Zelenskyy on social media, Murphy challenged journalist Jordan Schachtel’s premise that the guest was the antagonist with more Russia collusion claims.

“By pushing this plan to hand Ukraine to Putin (IN FRONT OF ZELENSKY!), Trump is trying to either humiliate or provoke Zelensky. But he does neither, and so Vance has to light the match,” the lawmaker contended of the exchange. “Of course Zelensky had to make his point that Putin won’t honor the ‘ceasefire’. He does it diplomatically with a question to Vance (likely so as to not directly confront Trump on TV). And then Vance see his chance [sic]. He commences the ambush. The whole thing was a set up.”

Furthering her point that the “hostile” advice attributed to Obama-era officials was a bust, Hemingway went on to note, “Surprisingly, one of the most important aspects of it not working out might have been [South Carolina Sen.] Lindsay Graham’s reaction. Had he and other neocons thought Zelensky was being reasonable, Trump would be having to fight (even moreso) the neocon portion of the GOP in addition to Team Obama’s dirty tricks. Even the ‘conservative’ neocon pundits on TV last night were admitting Zelensky had royally messed up.”

She cautioned that the high-stakes meddling was far from over as she concluded, “I’d expect more and more shenanigans and to be prepared so that you don’t fall for the next information operation. The post-WWII architecture in Europe and the US needs this war to continue or be settled on ‘US troops on the ground’ type guarantees, even though that’s not what Americans want. Things will heat up here, and it’s a very dangerous time.”
