Actor slammed for preaching mental health at White House after what he did to ex-fiancée Olivia Wilde

Jason Sudeikis may have visited the White House in an effort to raise awareness, but his past treatment of ex-fiancée Olivia Wilde left him getting schooled on mental health.

The actor was joined by cast members of his show “Ted Lasso” on a visit to the White House for a sit down with President Joe Biden on Monday. However, in addition to remarks delivered during the White House press briefing getting outshone by a dispute between White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and long-overlooked journalist Simon Ateba, social media users were quick to remind Sudeikis about the public humiliation served up to Wilde via custody documents in April 2022.

“So, like, no matter who you are, no matter where you live, no matter who you voted for, we all — probably, I assume — we all know someone who has — or have been that someone ourselves, actually — that’s struggled, that’s felt isolated, that’s felt anxious, that has felt alone. Right?” Sudeikis said before White House correspondents. “And it’s actually one of the many things that, believe it or not, that we all have in common as human beings, right?”

“And so, that means that we — it’s something that we can all, you know, and should talk about with one another when we’re feeling that way or when we recognize that in someone feeling that way,” the actor went on.

The public obliged.

As it happened, after having had two children during a relationship that began in 2011, the couple split in November 2020 and were still hashing out custody agreements when Wilde traveled to Las Vegas to promote her film, “Don’t Worry Darling” at CinemaCon 2022.

While on stage in front of over 4,000 industry executives, the actress and director was approached by an audience member with a manila envelope and was said to have asked, “This is for me?” before she discovered that she had just been served.

Following the incident, Wilde had submitted in court filings that, “Jason’s actions were clearly intended to threaten me and catch me off guard. He could have served me discreetly, but instead he chose to serve me in the most aggressive manner possible.”

“The fact that Jason would embarrass me professionally and put our personal conflict on public display in this manner is extremely contrary to our children’s best interests,” she added.

Sudeikis was defended by a source who explained at the time, “Papers were drawn up to establish jurisdiction relating to the children of Ms. Wilde and Mr. Sudeikis. Mr. Sudeikis had no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered, as this would be up to the process service company involved, and he would never condone her being served in such an inappropriate manner.”
