Albuquerque, New Mexico is undergoing a “culture change” in government that is being driven by the toxic principles of Critical Race Theory.
That’s according to Fox News, but as the network reported, it gets even worse when considering who the city hired to help push its equity agenda — in the eyes of the left, equity represents a moral cause to justify discrimination against white people.
When first elected in 2017, Democratic Mayor Tim Keller vowed change was coming: “From Day One of our administration, we knew that inequity was growing and that we would have to change the culture. When has learning and growing ever been comfortable?”
Since we took office, building equity into our work making ABQ safer and more inclusive has been a priority –
and 2020 proved just how crucial that is. Our team is looking forward to continuing this progress in 2021. #OneAlbuquerque @CABQRaceEquity pic.twitter.com/EqVGawF6p7— Mayor Tim Keller (@MayorKeller) January 5, 2021
“Keller established the Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI) in March 2018 to implement his vision of racial equity,” Fox News reported. “The office created trainings on critical race theory and made some employees feel uncomfortable along the way, the OEI director said in the 2021 report.”
The city hired an equity consultant by the name of Zamil Salhab, who was motivated to activism by the “terror” of the U.S. military, which she claims is the “home of white supremacy.”
Salhab is with the far-left RACED Consulting firm, which showcases the following biography for her on its website:
Zamil Salhab is a genderqueer first generation American and Post 9-11 veteran. They became politicized upon returning from war, having recognize the deep layers of colonialism and terror the U.S. military has perpetrated at home and abroad. […]
The culmination of their experiences within the military and in civilian life, codified the deep constraints of white supremacy culture and behavior, and its effects upon their emotional, mental and bodily health. Zamil speaks truth to white supremacy culture and the behaviors and language which uphold its structure, and its impact upon BIPOC and QTBIPOC communities.
The city confirmed that the Office of Equity and Inclusion “contracted with RACED Consulting LLC,” according to Fox News. Salhab lists herself as a “cofounder” of the group on LinkedIn.
The following workshops are highlighted on the website:
White Fragility: Understanding The Impact
ADVERTISEMENTProblematize Whiteness: A Personal Approach To De-Centering Whiteness, Interrupting White Supremacy, And Being An Accomplice
Interrupting Whiteness At The Collaboration Table
“We will explore white fragility and its impact on building racially inclusive practices. We learn common ways it can surface and how to manage it when it does, and how to create a process to hold each other accountable to fostering equitable practices. We share personal experiences with white fragility and its effect on you and those around you,” RACED Consulting says of the first course listed.
For the second year in a row, ABQ got a perfect score on the National LGBTQ+ Report Card! This represents our city’s commitment to equity and inclusivity, and we will continue to enact policies and initiatives that protect and help our LGBTQ+ community thrive.#OneAlbuquerque pic.twitter.com/JBGffcMVYi

To be clear, Salhab harbors real hatred for the U.S., military, as seen in remarks she made in June 2020 during a Veterans for Peace panel discussion.
“Being first generation and being black, being queer. And then to go into what I believe is the home of White supremacy and patriarchy — the military,” the left-wing extremist said. “Little did I realize like what damage mentally, spiritually, emotionally I was doing to myself and what I’d have to go through in order to deconstruct myself…. after getting out of the service after coming back from my tours in Iraq and learning to love who I am.”
“Because society not only teaches that Black bodies are less than… and then to be a woman,” Salhab continued. “So to deal with those different intersectionalities of the White supremacy construct, it was, you know, for a period of time I thought I was nuts, I thought I was crazy.”
And taxpayers in Albuquerque are now on the hook for this extreme leftist to shape their city.
