Amazon announces purchase of Melania Trump’s upcoming documentary, acquires ‘The Apprentice’

The show that turned President Donald Trump into a household name will now be streamed on Amazon Prime.

All seven seasons of ‘The Apprentice’ will eventually be available on the service, with a new season being released every week. The seventh and final season will stream in April. Trump is still listed as the executive producer of the show, but it is not clear how much he will be paid by this deal or if he will be receiving any money at all.

Amazon released a statement by Trump, who is looking forward to watching the replays.

“I look forward to watching this show myself — such great memories, and so much fun, but most importantly, it was a learning experience for all of us.”

Mark Burnett, also an executive producer of the show, expressed his excitement in a statement of his own.

“‘The Apprentice’ is one of the best shows that I ever produced. The charismatic onscreen presence of President Donald J. Trump made it a bona fide hit!” Burnett gushed.

This comes after the Jeff Bezos-owned company purchased Melania Trump’s upcoming documentary, reportedly to the tune of $40 million. The behind-the-scenes tell-all follows Mrs. Trump as she packed up her life in Mar-a-Lago to move back into the White House, with the crew even obtaining access to the first family’s residential quarters.

Bezos has indicated his support for Trump by donating $1 million to the president’s inauguration as well as attending the swearing-in. The Washington Post, also owned by Bezos, has taken its lumps after refusing to endorse a candidate in the 2024 election after it was assumed the endorsement would go to Vice President Kamala Harris. Recently, the paper has lost several editors and publishers over its new editorial direction, with many criticizing the lack of anti-Trump sentiment being allowed at the publication.

Despite seemingly being close with Bezos, Trump is not fooling around with Washington Post reporters. While aboard Air Force One, the outlet’s White House Correspondent Michael Birnbaum got a taste of the president’s ire.

“Is Putin disrespecting you by attacking Ukraine while trying to make a peace deal?” Birnbaum asked.

“What did he do?” Trump asked.

“Well, he’s attacking Ukraine,” the WaPo reporter said.

“Is he disrespecting me?” Trump repeated before asking, “Who are you with?”

Birnbaum identified himself, leaving the president shaking his head and chuckling.

“You’ve lost a lot of credibility. Go ahead, what else?”
